So when copper pops up by the silver, where will you settle? dancing

The pfh 1s of the peak looks very alluring.
I have to run.

Sure, but is it more alluring than the plains SE of the sheep? We aren't going to have Wheel before the settler is completed.

And a city 2s of the sheep would be good for lots of shared food micro shenanigans.

Very green land, and relatively few hills. Luxuries will be very valuable.

Yeah it’s too far for a first city.

Sorry, what exactly do you mean? You think SE of the sheep is too far, but the PHF isn't? Or the reverse or what?

I mean that the pfh is too far. Not so much in terms of overextension, but in terms of worker efficiency. SE of sheep is probably great, grab the furs and marble immediately. I love sharing food resources, but 2S of sheep is too timid, even if it would make a sick GP farm later.

Yeah, this was my take as well.

I've seen this sort of map before somewhere. wink
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Played turns 15-19.

We found Giraflorens mackoti almost due south.  12 tiles between our capitals, 13 tiles of movement.  He is improving the horse in his capital, and it looks like he teched AH and not Agriculture despite having corn in his BFC and Agriculture giving a discount on AH.  Interesting, interesting.

So you may have noticed that I posted a lot before the game started then basically stopped posting, despite having several lurkers in the thread.  I even ignored Serdoa's request for an update.  I did however give him an update in private.  Now why is that?

Well, because there is a strong consensus among a number of RB veterans that mackoti reads threads.  It is basically RB's open secret.

There, I said it.  I feel better having it fully out in the open, especially with a new generation of players now playing the game on the forum.  This is why I swore never to play another game against mackoti again, and perhaps why he backdoors into games instead of just signing up.

The topic has been discussed in hushed tones by many people.  Too many times do people post their wonder completion dates and then get beat to them by one turn.  Too many times does he counter every strategy that you come up with.  Someone even told me that they've posted fake information as traps in their thread for mackoti and he fell into at least one of them.  He is not SevenSpirits who I strongly believe is the best player who has ever graced RB; mackoti never posts anything in his threads and you have no idea how he seems to play the game so well and be invincible. He did quite poorly in his first game then immeasurably better in all subsequent games. Curious, isn't it?

This will be the last game I play against mackoti, and if he backdoors into any future game I am involved in I will vehemently object or immediately drop from the game in protest.
