[PB56] NobleHelium Tells It Like It Is

(September 28th, 2019, 23:37)Bobchillingworth Wrote: Sure, why not; I doubt I'll play another game with him anyway. I jumped in then because I perceived a trend which as become only more obvious over time. I deleted the post when I did because I anticipated that players would begin being eliminated soon, and/or the game itself might end in the near future, not because the argument ceased to carry the same weight.

I'll lay it out in greentext form:

* Mack hints darkly that Auro may be cheating in order to win a handful of sequential battles

> Mack wins what appears to be 95%+ of his battles when attacking throughout the entirety of the game, including multiple low-odds fights against barbarians early on which led to his unstoppable lead.

* Mack makes multiple posts fretting that Auro could use Maelstrom to break enforced peace, considers asking Auro not to, and threatens to abandon the game if he does.

> Mack finally manages to defeat Auro by exploiting Auro's Defensive Pact to break enforced peace a turn early, enabling him to alpha-strike him.

* Mack is famous for having an extraordinary "game sense", seeming to always know his opponent's plans and where their units will be.

> Mack consistently prefers to attack players who update their threads regularly, and his IP can often be found browsing the forums even while his account is logged off.

In summary, I think this guy's a fucking cheater. Or, if not, then a hypocrite at least.

I'm hardly the first person to make most of the above observations, just one of the few willing to finally lay them out.

But joke aside. Those are serious allegations.

Allegations implies that it’s up for debate/needs further proof, while here it seems to be a foregone conclusion.

It's the first time that I've heard about it, but then again Noble and Gaspar have been here at RB for a while more then I am. Didn't want to say that it's true or not true, because I can't know it.

You'll see most of us just operate with that assumption. My first game with him I was more distracted by his spectacular NAP-stab so I didn't really grok his timing on things like whipping Pyramids just before Gaspar landed them, but it's been a theme. I've typically updated in a Mack game showing my strong military and willingness to go nuclear if he hits me and it works pretty well.

Part of the trouble is that he also 100% does do high-level C&D, and a strong C&D using demos/EPs undoubtedly gives you a better picture of a rival's current situation than the rival's own thread. So it's not exactly provable, but I've never gone wrong assuming it.

So... He’s to your northwest?

I suppose the second city spot is decided for us, isn't it? Current turn is unplayed.

Wow. What is this, a three city challenge?

This is the new norm for maps on RB (it is a bit amped up to eleven, to be fair). Apparently people don't even realize this is a cramped map. crazyeye

Do you have any units at hand to be able to settle safely?

What’s your micro plan? Would it work to chop and 1-pop whip the settler, and overflow to a 1-turn worker?
