PB57 Organizing Thread

Settings/rules to vote on:
- advanced start ancient era / normal ancient era
- City gifting: banned / unrestricted / restricted to 1 city per peace treaty
- Unit gifting: allowed / banned by game setting
- Map trading: allowed (at writing in RtR) / banned by game setting
- Barbarians: on / off
- Cylindrical / Toroidal
- Map: mirror / non-mirror
- Map size # land tiles/player: tiny 60-80 / small 80-100 / standard 100-120

Time window: anything that does not fall into 21:00 - 05:00 GMT.

I need information on how to set up the map / game with Advanced Start.  I checked the 53 thread but it is all over the place and I do not have a concise idea.

Just start the game without advanced start first. If you're done load the WB as new scenario and enable the 'Advanced Start' checkbox. Now, you could test out if the number of advanced start-points (buying cities, etc) maybe leads to some map design changes.

How to select the amount of starting points is a question, I can not answer.

Votes:

- Barbarians: on (perhaps we should have voted on barb boats being on or off - I'd go for off but not hugely bothered)

- Map: non-mirror ( I'm never going to play a mirror am I? Can I flip one non-mirror voter with a legal challenge?  )
- Map size: standard 100-120

Play order:

1. Pindicator [5pm - 9pm Pacific / 0100 - 0500 UTC] although I can most likely fit it in throughout the work day
2. Cornflakes [6-9 am Eastern US / 1100 - 1400 UTC]
3. Gavagai  05:00 - 21:00 GMT
4. The Black Sword 1700-2300 GMT (I'm pretty flexible about playing before that these days)
5. Old Harry [1900-2300 UTC]

Does this look alright?

I reserve the right to mirror whatever parts of the map that I feel can only be balanced by mirroring.

I tried this and I could not select the number of Advanced Start points / enable Advanced Start at all once the WB file was created without Advanced Start. Is this because I'm doing it in base BTS and not RTR?

Noble, in case you want somebody to double check the map and/or run novice's script to help with balancing, I can lend a hand.

I am trying to find novice's tool because the download link is now broken. Do you know where I can get it? I asked novice but he hasn't responded.

I'm running Windows and the attached zip should contain everything that's needed (including the actual .exe, so no compiling required), but I can't really help if it doesn't work for some reason.

Yeah that's the rewritten version from flugauto using a different library. I'd prefer to use novice's original program - I'll wait for a response from him.

Don't forget that novice tool might have problems, because the maximum player amount was increased to 52 since we use PBSpy and it's server additions

Select "Custom Scenario" two bullet points below "New Scenario" to get more options.
