It's also a possibility that Noble is forced to commit a portion of his units to defending Stonehenge rather than going straight for the capital, which could mean being stuck in Archer-whipping hell courtesy of the seafood.

We'll see.
He lost a chariot taking SoLong. I have 2 quecha in Farewell - he has 2 chariots that can attack. If he does so, I think he's got about a 50/50 chance (I'm guessing here - might be higher, might be lower). He might go steal the worker, in which case I have a shot to survive - I'll get a quecha for next turn and will be able to whip an archer after that. I dunno - we'll see.

NH played... and we aren't dead!!!
Which means that I think we are likely to surive for awhile.
Next turn, we create another quecha and, more importantly, get archery. He'll have 1 or 2 chariots and a warrior and we'll have 2 or 3 quechas - in any case, the forces will be equal, but warrior on quecha on a hill behind 40% defense is bad odds.
Turn after that, we'll have an archer, which is basically death to an attacker. I'm not positive we are safe, but I think it's tough for NH to take us. We'll see. I've been optimistic before

so, here's a question - if NH offers peace in the next few turns, do we take it? Assuming we survive, that is. I mean, we can continue to expand - to the island, to the north, even to the horse site south. NH can't get everything.
He might never offer, but I thought I'd bring it up for discussion.

I thought I could whip an archer right way, but it's a 2 pop whip dry.
He'll have 3 chariots and an axe in range next turn, so probably we die? axe kills a quecha and 3 chariots should be able to kill 2 quecha.
ah well.
got a bizarre request to dow a couple of people along with amicalola. Dunno what that's about.

Thanks for covering the turns AT. In hindsight perhaps it would have been better for me not to have signed up at all and let superdeath make the map for 10 players...

So, what went wrong?
I think going for stonehenge was wrong with #2. #2 should have been placed on the horse and then #3 could have built stonehenge. This would have allowed mutliple chariots to be built. Also, going for archery over pottery would have helped make us safe.

You also couldn't have known how barren the west was for us.

Founded SoLong (might as well keep the naming scheme, after all). Working the mined stone and chopping. Stonehenge will overwhelm that city and make it either flip or give me easy 1st turn access to it. It's 9 turns, working the stone and getting 2 chops. (...) since this is going to upset Tarkeel.
Yep, the moment Stonehenge was chopped out there, that city had to die.

So, now I have 3 cities settled in my direction, I've had one burned and I'm being actively attacked. What the hell, man? Hopefully, the land to the north is empty and we can claim it without issue. I'm unhappy that both our nearest neighbors expanded entirely towards us and not the other direction - I dunno if the map pushed them that way or if it was just what they chose.
I can't speak for Noble and haven't read his thread yet, but east was really the only direction we could go and the map was extremely tight. Sorry about that. From what I've seen, your start location would have been pretty decent with slightly more room to your two neighbors, but somehow I think you were meant to expand north? Not that there were any breadcrumbs that way.
