In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Thanks guys, we appreciate the info.
If we declare war this turn, we'll take the second half. Still not sure if we're going to do that though.

So I'm going to bed soon, and I haven't played yet because Noble hasn't either (to be fair he has to wait for Gira). My current plan is to wake up in the morning and play then, after Noble.
Unfortunately, tomorrow is going to be an absolutely hectic day for me (for completely unrelated reasons to this game), but I will try to be as active as possible.

Well, it's 6:30am and I just woke up. There are 2.5 hours left on the clock. My current plan is roughly to go to the gym, play through the 58 turn with Tarkeel, then play the 56 one. Combined, that should take about 2 hours, and so I shouldn't miss the turn. But what do I do if Noble won't play before me?

Hmm, new concern. With 51 minutes on the clock, what if Noble just doesn't give me any time to play after him? I guess I could log in at the same time (although for some reason he has a problem with that too), but then the rules get super wonky.
That would be pretty ironic, considering the whole Superdeath thing literally in the last PB.

Yeah, looks like that's what's happening... Man, I can see why Noble dislikes PBs. If people all played as many clock games as him, they literally wouldn't function.
The thing is, too, I think our rules are actually fairly objective, despite some recent complaints of subjectivity, or 'openness to interpretation.' If you are attacking, you may pick (excluding a double-move by yourself). If you are at peace, you must let the other person know and the reason why. Otherwise, there is no turn split. It seems as simple as that.

Well, I guess I am going to play my turn rapidly over the next 20 minutes, while Noble is also logged in, before the timer runs out. By my understanding, he is barring me from attacking by staying in the game. This is incredibly frustrating, and probably the best example of clock games I've seen in a PB.
If someone could clearly explain to me if I'm wrong, that would be really nice. Alternatively, if I'm right, could someone please explain to Noble how our very basic PB etiquette works? Maybe it'll sink in this time?

Why don't you ask for a timer extension after Noble plays? I can't see why it wouldn't be given. Noble played a long turn and you need to play after him, no reason why you would be demanded to play a 2 minute turn or something like that.

I try to avoid asking for extensions for the reasons Miguelito laid out recently in 59. But you are right, in this case it may be unavoidable. I guess that's what I need to do?
Edit: I would also like to apologize if I have said or say anything that seems unkind. It is a horrible/busy day here. Very unlucky that potential drama cropped up on the same day.
