Hi, I don't mean to nag but was there any progress on this? Game is still progressing at a snail pace even with me out of the turnsplit. Gira is playing very short turns (or not playing at all today for whatever reason), and Mjmd is also playing very short turns. I feel like <1 minute per city is a bad sign for player interest.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy to play the next 8 turns because I get to set up all my stock exchanges and have fun/discover with that (report on that soon!). And obviously I'll keep playing as long as someone else wants to. I'm guessing civac maybe? Just wanted to check.
Was going to report on stock exchange progress this morning, but no turn to play.

I can only say that a conecession can only happen if all relevant players do concede.

Well Mjmd has apparently also decided that this game is silly, and attacked Civac. Is he trying to force a concession? In any case, this attack further seals a Noble victory, if anyone was still in doubt; we needed Mjmd and Civac to tech up behind us, not fight. I thought about slamming into Mjmd's very unprotected back, but we can't really do that because 1) we need our units at the Noble front, and 2) we just exchanged fish-for-fish, and I'm not going to renege on that. I'm still a bit wounded from when I read Superdeath's anger after 55, when I didn't follow up a copper-deal there (which I'd just totally forgotten about at the time; I'm sorry SD!).
Stock exchanges are mostly complete, maybe 70% there. Although it obviously would have been nice to have some uniques before now, they're pretty great once they're actually out. I'll post a proper overview in 2 turns, when they're done pretty much everywhere. The vast majority of our civ time/energy has been going into PB58; it’s just a much more interesting game. I'm sorry there aren't many updates here, though I'm not sure this game is being very closely lurked anyway, so it might not matter. Let me know if you would like more though.
Noble hasn't made any major attacks on Gira yet, so he's probably waiting until rifles or galleons. Or both. Please, man, just put us out of our misery!

Started a vote for Religious Victory. I'm gonna take a wild gander that it doesn't work, but hey maybe that's my reward for spreading my religion so widely? It could be pretty fun to watch Noble's head explode if I win.

In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

We'll never know. Mjmd and Civac didn't vote for me anyway, so I lost the vote by 50. The Hindu people no longer love me.
Edit: GG Lazteuq! Serious congrats for holding out so long.

I've been pumping 22 culture per turn into Elderflower for the last 6 turns, which I thought would be enough for it to at least hold its 1st ring tiles. But I was wrong. I guess Noble is running artists and building culture, or something along those lines? Whatever he's doing it's a great play by him, I'd love to know after the game. Anyway, he has enough ChoKuNus there to attack next turn I think, and I've been too confident I'd get the firstring back (and checked out) to have enough defenses, so I think he takes it. Sad for us. I'm spending some money on upgrades, and it has a castle, so maybe we hold. We'll find out.
Edit: Oh, wow no I really fucked up. He actually also has enough units to probably wipe the Holy City. Gira is doing an even worse job at tying up forces than I was - obviously not that I can complain. Thank God it looks like this game is over soon. I think my biggest mistake was trying to do both hurting Noble and competing economically. I might have been able to do one but trying to do both would never have worked in hindsight. Oh well. I spent about 2000 gold on upgrades, so maybe that saves it temporarily.

Ouch, he got the holy city. I'm impressed with how well his cuirassiers did; I'll want to remember that for future games. I'm not sure if I could have avoided this if I had paid more attention, but I honestly somewhat doubt it. Noble is on his way to rifles, and cavs would have crushed anything I could use in 5 turns either way. Looking at Noble's un-attacked southern cities with 5-6 units apiece, Gira is even more checked out than I am, so no help from there. Noble has a GNP that looks to be as high as the field's, combined.
This hurts a lot, our economy went down by a couple of hundred gpt. But do you want to know the really sad part?
Even with that loss, we're still #2 in GNP, at 0% science, on a tech with no ktb or prereqs. Why are we still playing this game again?

Apparently this game is continuing, which I can only describe as ludicrous. I do think there is a lot to learn from this game, both in what went wrong, and what went right. As such, I will try to put out a detailed postmortem later this week, when I have the time. That will be my final report for this one.
