Charriu - Is it normal for the monument (or in this case Stele), that Stonehenge created in all my cities to disappear when Stonehenge is obsoleted? I had always thought that Stonehenge being obsoleted means no new ones are created in new cities, not that it removes the ones it created earlier.

Unfortunately it is normal. I will see what I can do about that. It's standard BtS behavior

Oh, I get it now. Normally monuments are obsoleted at the same time as Stonehenge, but UBs don't obsolete in CtH, right?
Yes, but the monuments are constructed by Stonehenge and when that obsoletes it destroys all the monuments created by Stonehenge. Personally I find this very stupid. Like I said I will look into that, but can't promise to find a fix soon. How many cities are affected? Maybe Ramk can fix it via the server.

But am I right that you haven't researched Astronomy so far? When do you expect to research that?

You can still build steles after Stonehenge goes obsolete if steles are not obsolete. Of course Henge going obsolete means all the monuments provided by it disappear, otherwise it might as well never go obsolete. Any monuments built before Stonehenge will remain.
Making the monuments not disappear would be a BIG CHANGE to the wonder and definitely not a bugfix-level change that we typically apply to running games. You are basically making the wonder not obsolete with that change.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)

Stonehenge doesn't build monuments in your cities. They behave differently also in that they never get culture doubling. Think of it more like Stonehenge itself counts as a monument in every city not that it builds independent monuments there.
As Noble said you can have real monuments while possessing Stonehenge too (needed to be built earlier obv). These do not disappear when you lose Stonehenge and also get normal culture doubling. I actually did believe that they would stay as well after SH obsoletes and that I would just not get ones in newly built cities. I also expected that the old buildings might lose their culture bonus (the +1 culture) but keep the x1.25 multiplier (April 1st, 2021, 03:18)Serdoa Wrote:(April 1st, 2021, 02:05)NobleHelium Wrote: You can still build steles after Stonehenge goes obsolete if steles are not obsolete. If I do an update for this PB, I would only attempt what Serdoa mentioned.
