When I'm back home I will go over Fabled's graphs with a fine comb. So far I got the impression he made one worker, one warrior and then built the settler on size 2 which is fast but weak. I'm not sure he can defend himself at all. His best option would be teching archery. A couple archers in his forward plant would render it invulnerable. If he does have horses he can threaten a counterattack with chariots. His production potential with a weak second city and only one worker is low but ours is not a much better.

Turn 29 (2840 BC)
As I mentioned in the last post, Fabled's city really threw a wrench in our plans, and we're looking into how to best cope. Right now, the best path looks like an axe rush.
Let's start with a look at the target:
That city only has floodplains for food, and Fabled doesn't have agriculture yet. There's also no extra hammer yields indicating horses, and no roads on the city tile indicating a trade route. We suspect that his worker is currently mining/roading the gold.
The city was founded on T27, and assuming he keeps working an unimproved floodplain it should grow T35, or T36 with a likely slavery revolt. Our first plans had us stepping onto the jungle on T35, which would most likely be an autoraze. Below is an improved plan in which we have a third worker, deer camped, and first axe on jungle T37, with two other one and two turns behind.

Turn 30-31 (2840 BC)
Our two workers (Juan Manuel Fangio and Alberto Ascari) chopped out a settler that finished T30, and have now grouped up to road before we settle on the copper hill next turn. TheWheel came in this turn so we can revolt into slavery before the second city is founded.
Our scout is currently playing hide and seek with a big cat, trying to head southeast but keep getting blocked.

Turn 32-33 (2680 BC)
We settled Sakhir on the copper hill T30 after connecting the sites by road. We've put 4 hammers into an axe at Silverstone for a potential double-whip, which delays the third worker (and hooking up the game) by a turn, but we think the flexibility is worht it. You can see where our scout has been dancing with lions in the east, and Fabled's scout traversing in the north-west.
We're currently on track for the T36 attack, with the option switching to a slightly earlier (and weaker) T35 attack by double-whipping the axe next turn.
Sakhir is home to the Bahrain International Circuit, which has hosted the Bahrain Grand Prix since 2004.

I think I prefer the technical parts of the inner ring, but the outer ring race was definitely enjoyable. Unfortunately I don't think it's likely we'll get another F1 race on the outer circuit, but they should consider alternating the layouts.

I think it is unlikely as well, but I figure that it was better for actual racing because it was less technical. Sometimes there is something to be said for going back to basics.

Turn 34-36 (2560 BC)
The plan we outlined on T29 has more or less been followed, the only change being that we put hammers into the first axe earlier, thus delaying the third worker (Jack Brabham). We did this to give us the possiblity of a slightly earlier rush if it looked like Fabled was whipping archers. So far, he hasn't even revolted into slavery. Unfortunately his scout was in a position to see axe#2 being built in Sakhir this turn, so he might know something is up. He'd also know that looking at demographics, but the first axe will step on his jungle next turn though limiting what he can do to prepare.
Fabled lost a warrior last turn, and our scout saw a bear in the south with 0.3 strength, so that's probably what happened. He then took a detour to look at SD's capital, before swinging back west to scout Fabled's capital area during the attack.

Turn 37 (2520 BC) Blitzkrieg
The time has come to declared war on Fabled. We had talked alot about which half we wanted, but with Fabled playing before us on T36 the choice was made for us.
Quote:Our empire seems to find themselves on opposite sides of history, and are now at war, with us taking the second half.
He's the #2 power in the world with 3 warriors, two of which are in view, and I'll bet the last is in the capital. He's not in slavery, limiting his options for reinforcements.
Current assault plan is as follows:
T38: Axe #1 attacks Tar Valon, most likely capturing it. Axe #2+3 cross onto the plain NW of it, and the workers road the tile.
T39: Axe#2+3 move to the gold tile, which is roaded. Axe #1 heals up
T40: Workers road the plains SSE of Tar Valon (NE-NE of Caemlyn), allowing axe#2+3 to move to the floodplain NE of Caemlyn
T41: Attack Caemlyn

Turn 38 (2480 BC)
Fabled responded by revolting into slavery, moving the scout next to "undefended" Sakhir, and a second warrior appeared in Tar Valon (probably freshly built). Undaunted we press on with our plans:
Warrior vs Scout, 99.1%: Win, suffering 3 rounds of damage
Axe vs Warrior, 99.1%: Win, suffering 2 rounds of damage
The first axe can promote to C1 and take out the second warrior next turn, while the other two axes can speed on towards the capital. The scout is swinging south to avoid the warrior in the area:
In other news, Naufragar seems to have attacked Bing. I was worried about Mjmd holding the turn, but then he logged in while I was playing and did a double.
