Coffee, like many things in life, is only disgusting if you don't know what you are doing . I defy anyone to have the cafe con leche from the little Cuban place down the street and not fall in love.

And I know this will get read, but even so. Bit too much smugness going on in that other thread for my taste. pocketbeetle Wrote:And I know this will get read, but even so. I know what you mean - I really wish they hadn't done the whole thread - I think its a bit much to go back through all old mess and bring it back up and say 'You went wrong here, here, here and here'. That said, Sullla does know what he is talking about even though he sometimes presents things in that thread as if he is grandstanding (which I doubt is his intention)

Ehh...I actually found the tone much improved over the private thread (even if the content is similar), and am really enjoying the analysis. I think Sullla has handled it pretty well - was impressed by how willing he was to admit their diplomatic failures too. He's handing out some honest criticism, but he's taking it too. That's fine with me...
Absolutly agree with darrelj here. The analysis from Sullla is great stuff to read and gives much food for thought. Had their tone be that calm in the private thread Sullla/Speaker would have got far less flak.
Seeing as the discussion is here...
Sulla's tone is markedly better now. I completely understand why their tone soured in their own thred, although I didn't always agree with what they posted. I think Sulla summed it up for me in his post in the postgame discussion: Sulla Wrote:Well, both Speaker and I are fiercely competitive people. It was our goal to win the game, not to make friends along the way The repeated use of the smiley annoyed me though. Ok - we know that you guys are really good at this game, but you don't need to look-down your nose quite that much - I mere - "that was a dumb move because ......" would have done. When I play cricket we often yell things like "fishing" when the batsman swing's and misses, if he does it again we will yell to the bowler "He likes your tackle mate" Another well used phrase is, again when the batsman has a bit of a heave: "The cows are mooing" They do the same in return "Strike 1, Strike 2, Strike 3 - you'd be out in baseball mate" was shouted at me a few weeks ago. After the game though in the bar (like in the postgame thread) we all have a decent chat and a beer and talk about how well someone bowled, batted etc... I do miss playing cricket.
