Good to know, thank you Charriu.
Pin, another solution for you: delay the first settler until the turn BW lands, but go AH>Mining>BW. I'd double check to see if it is possible to fit in a second worker before the settler or if growth to size 6 makes any sense, specifically to see if it is possible to stack double whips in the capital after BW lands (for anything necessary, it might be inefficient but best defence). I'm just not sure when BW or Mining land, would it be eot24 or 25, and eot34 or eot 35 (I'm pretty sure if can't be after eot35 if AH finishes eot17, but then overflow might bring stuff forward)?
If copper is riverside it would be close in terms of defence against a single chariot and a single turn is phalanx or not.
In terms of defence against a holkan rush, SD could get Hunting eot6 and BW eot22, then a holkan could queue upgrade plus a chop for either eot22 or eot23, and just walking one tile per turn could reach the capital T35. Note that this would mean no food techs researched so this is absurd, but I think the only defence is 2, ideally three warriors in the capital and there is no way to defend both the pig and the wheat.
Which just makes it clear it is not possible to defend against both a holkan and WC rush at the same time, except to find a way to get phalanxs out.
Third choice, going straight Mining to BW instead of AH, skipping a workboat (ie the ultradefensive option) would land Mining eot13 and BW eot...29? (so the wb only saves 1 turn, not 2). Settler probably at size 3? So the capital generates 37 hammers if working banana, or could give up 7 hammers for 14 commerce by using the oasis, which would bring forward BW to eot28. A mine could be finished T20, and growth@3 eot20 for a settler eot29, but it would probably be better to try and speed up BW a turn and then double whip in that instance?
So fourth option: a whipped settler variant with Mining eot13 and a work boat eot19 and clam hooked T21, warrior 12/15 and oasis at size 2 over banana and plains hill mine at size 4 would give BW eot...26?! (36 beakers at size 1 over 3 turns, 56 beakers at size 2 over 4 turns, 48 at size 3 over 3 turns, and then 54 beakers at size 4 over 3 turns gives 19. Please double check the math, this includes the prerequisite bonus of 1.2). So revolt T27, but that settler could only be at 39 hammers (3 turns making 13fhpt) so would need to give up some commerce at size 4 to make the settler a possible doublewhip on T28. But this is actually doable, except for lacking The Wheel, no covering warrior, no second scout or warrior and there is no way to actually build a phalanx without whipping, and no idea how long it takes to hook copper with a single worker.
I'm not sure how you want to play it.
