In addition to the fat32/ntfs problems, there is a problem if you have any extra files in the directories.. like you you made changes to any files and made backup copies.

These extra files will make the checksums fail, and they are not automatically deleted if you uninstall.. so if you uninstall and there is still an assets dir remaining, then there is probably some extra files in them that cause problems if you dont manually delete/move them.

Now, thats a new hint.

I'll try it - even with Adventure 4 out now and only three Weeks time for both of them left... will be... interesting... to write a good report for both...

Yes Uninstall Civ, then go to your folder where it was, there will still likely be a folder names Sid Meir's Civ 4 and it will have some stuff in it, delete that folder too. Delete everything or move everything. Restart and reinstall. Good Luck
