So I liked Gav sending built forces to slow down a neighbor. I like it a whole lot less that he kept the city. Now he has to dedicate resources in that direction and guarantees that SD only has one opponent to directional expand into (mind you SD is laser focused on this despite that city being a nice one SD could also take).

Has there been a successful HA attack in recent history? The only one I can think of is PB49 where I choked Raskolnikov with bowmen and then Commodore swooped in with HA to capture 2 cities. But other than that I can only recall failures with pure HA rushes getting dashed to smithereens by spears.

Do you mean Mackoti playing as Gira? But yes probably PB56.
There was a nice chariot push by someone in PB62 in the age where HAs probably should have been appearing

I had planned on planting a city on the open square between the gems and the forest, but I don't know if how much that'll piss Commodore off. He seems to be the weakest player so far with just 3 cities (and 3 clams resources, poor guy ), so do I step on his throat or worry about cornering the wolf?
Let me get this straight Nauf. You are planning to put a city 1N of the gems through 4 jungle tiles you have to road, while a known Commodore warrior is watching you, and you know Commodore is right there with a road?
Nauf planting an aggressive city sure to start a war, he can't defend, while he is ahead and could easily get further ahead? He would never do such a thing!
My guess is Commodore just easily wins the settler race though and Nauf decides to go elsewhere, but you never know.

Amica you crazy! NO COTTAGES???? Sure a farm serfdom economy makes a lot of sense, but there are cities like his capital that cottages do make sense. He also hasn't discovered the two fish with tons of grassland around them on the other side of that bay.
TGLH on the other hand is a great wonder for the territory working with. Have I mentioned how Ginger really should have gotten?

Yeah, I don't see any reason to run zero cottages but he us right that they won't play as big role as usually in this game

Question for the lurkerati. Other than this being stupid by Nauf. Should he know hes in a settler race? He sees a road built and axe incoming. In my mind under current rules he should stick to turn order here.
Turn order here may super matter. I'm not sure on Commodore timing but if he has settler moving to his tile next turn he wins under current turn order (he is 1st in turn currently). HOWEVER, if Nauf double moves he can either move 1NE or 1N and win the race.
Personally I'm hoping he doesn't double move Commodore and we don't have to deal with, but for the record I think Nauf should reasonable know he is in a settler race.
Not that he can hold it.... but that shouldn't be a factor.

I also 'regret' Amica founding that city.... THERE IS A FISH WET RICE CITY EAST OF THERE!!!!!!!! I'm not going to lie I thought there was a chance Nauf and Amica fought over that as its one of the best food spots on the map....... But nope Amica founds 'no food regret'
