My warrior is at 94 health.
I take it the expectation is that the scout takes the settler and then dies a horrible death? Or it doesn't take the settler because of some weird rule, then you settle and simply move the warrior in to heal properly?

...can builders capture camps if the guarding unit is killed by a ranged atteck?
I have never seen a player intentionally move an unprotected unit adjacent to a barb before. I never thought I'd still experience such novelty 20 years into playing civ.

wont it delay you settling by a turn as no movement points when you recapture it?
edit
i see you say it won't be captured. great detail there. Explains some mad behaviour i have seen in the past

Anything can capture an empty camp.
Certainly a great person, builder or settler. I expect a religious unit can too.

I was thinking about the second camp tbh for those exact reasons. But that requires another builder and identifying 2 tiles to improve...

I have to wonder about chopping crabs in Sumeria, at least, early game. Mid-late game anything goes.
I'm getting Harbours third tech and pushing them down ASAP. That suggests that a lighthouse is a relatively early build for the trade route.
Therefore crabs in those cities are worth 3f1h3g tiles and I have to fund units someway - there has to be an interesting calculation regarding using the trade route itself for gold versus using it to grow pop to work such crabs.

i have a trade route fettish. I use them internal early for hammers, growth and food then later internationally for huge gold.
the meta may be different here though.
one of the strengths of phonecia is the trade routes
