[SPOILERS] swans will bite u

That's expected. The only two amenities in your civilization right now are the +2 from the palace, which only apply to the capital city. The only amenities that can actually bounce between cities are from luxuries.

Turn 25 - Japan

the things i do for this game.....

literally almost everyone who's important to me irl knows about this shit now is that normal

uhhh so yeah ok. i was expecting to do literally nothing this turn but we have a clean shot at the camp, as even if the scout takes the most direct approach possible it can't pillage before we finish the pantheon. i'll take it - can buy the builder in 2 now depending on AH results. i can do literally nothing next turn instead smile

foreign policy to come as my friends wanted their tv back before i could do the spreadsheet LMAO

galley positioning does scare me a bit though as the trader is guaranteed dead if a barb comes out of the fog NE of hakuho this interturn, since neither of us will get a galley next turn and it only takes 1 move to plunder. braga also still is if multiple ships come out of the fog... but should we really tie a galley down here indefinitely on defense instead of scouting? idk

A great quote both in and out of context smile

We need a new header quote. For my money, that should be it.

Oh, and y'all may as well send each other delegations for diplo visibility, to get you closer to seeing each other's builds at a glance. I had assumed you got that for free as permanent allies, but apparently not.

delegations! that's a good idea. that won't have any other weird, unpredictable side effects right? i have never sent a delegation in this game lolll

uh so, foreign policy from last turn:

- thrawn founded and picked up 4 era score. did he walk 2 extra turns to settle next to the natural wonder? he'd better not have, if they have a stronger site than our galapagos plant in NW range we're in troubleeee
- banzai founded as well, leaving incurian as the last player on 1 city
- chevalier...gosh darn it, chevalier got 2 empire score and their team is now first in religious rankings for what really smells like an attempt to race me to the first religion. skeptical of this move generally as faith-buying ships is still less efficient than upgrading and harbors give more gold than HSs give faith, plus the essential trade routes and housing. essential housing, UNLESS they're planning to snipe feed the world, and there's not really an awesome backup belief for us (choral music is the closest). we do NOT have time to invest in a race here...... i think i will not immediately swap to HS in terunofuji as we badly need to pull off this geneva attack asap. but geneva and teru are sure as shit going HS first and HS next, respectively...

turn somehow rolled all the way around to me again while i was sleeping so i get to do two spreadsheet updates at once haha. don't procrastinate kids

Be sure to start checking+recording the GP screen next turn so we know for sure what Chevalier's district is. Sure does sound likely a holy site though.

Chevalier making a full on effort to race Japan to a religion seems doubtful to me. My guess is that he's after Choral Music anyway; extra culture for faster Jongs would definitely align with standard Indonesia strategy. And a Monumentality Classical period is likely to pay dividends ahead of the Jong rush.

Thrawn walking a settler few extra tiles to grab a natural wonder, meanwhile, is completely in character, and that team spotted their wonder on t16 so plenty of time to plan that out. They are already #1 in culture rankings and #2 in science, so those rankings likely won't help much in identifying what extra yields that probable wonder might give. No sense in worrying about relative advantages right now though.
