The single ship far west of HK runs interdiction. Run it straight SE and give them something else to deal with.

Not a pure bum rush. The point is to keep them off balance, wondering if fighting is happening else where. Keep them guessing, covering too many eventualities, bending this way and that way, and then snap them like a dry twig that hasn't been allowed to grow.

Only have to declare if we try and enter their borders, and given the number of cities the culture shouldn't the that spread right?

I agree the NE hook could be the quickest but we are pretty sure about TADs city locations and we know we could drive a bus through the gap between our civs so there is likely space to the direct S of rhe long boat as well.

I'd just suggest running the longboat SE this turn and see what there is. Worst case we find 3 galleys and need to run...

I don't think it's a mistake. I don't think that is a decision which even registers right now. In a week we might know better but even then I doubt. Too many variables to focus on just one aspect of one decision on one turn.

We commit everything. Send it to whichever area you think it will have the greatest impact. If you think the Volantis group is where it will have the most impact then that is where it goes.

I'm starting to see more and more your point about truly flooding the map with longboats, and I think that, whatever happens, GotForge was the right choice.




For context, I count 15 longboats on the water. I think Japan has at best, 3; Portugal 5 but one is damaged, Phoenica 3 Indonesia 2...and that is assuming no additional land units. Economically speaking, I don't know how players respond to lacking the +75% production you have on boats when the strength bonus is stacked on top.

At Mogadishu, which side will the Embolen longboat go to check each turn?

Also, I just want to state for posterity that I think either choice for the third longboat was justifiable and I would essentially have tossed a coin if I was making that decision by myself. There are too many variables when trying to weigh up the best and worst possible outcomes on both sides. I agree that going to pester Portugal on the way to cover Mogadishu is a good choice.
