New Pitboss - Greens (new player / newish)

I usually take mod from the pbspy page for game. That Being said past green game tech threads have process (edit I see civac also posted; see last post), which if someone has time they can find link to. However, I have a process documentation heavy friend who insisted when we moved computers to do a write up even though I knew how.... but I figured it might be useful for just such a set up.

Step one:

Download: BTS_Wrapper_v9_with_gamespy_fix.zip from test page

https://civ.zulan.net/pbspy/game/1/

Step two:

Extract the files in BTS_Wrapper_v9_with_gamespy_fix.zip and Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe to the game install directory. This is where you will find the normal Civ4BeyondSword.exe file.

Note: also copy over the dll files that were downloaded

For example:

D:\HDD Games\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\

Last step:

Create a shortcut from the BTS_Wrapper.exe application. This shortcut will provide parameters telling the shortcut which exeucutable to run and which mod to run.

"D:\HDD Games\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\BTS_Wrapper.exe" Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe mod= "RB65" Note substitute correct number

MOD INSTALL

The mod is called RBxx

Step one: download the RBxx files.

Step two:

Extract the zip of the mod into the folder called "Mods"

WARNING: There are two potential "Mods" or MODS folders

One will be where the game data is stored. The other will be where the game is installed to.

Game data path example:

C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\MODS

Game install path example:

D:\HDD Games\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods

The desired one to extract the zip of the mod to is the install path.

In the example above, the files from the RBxx.zip are extracted to

D:\HDD Games\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods

We are using the most up to date version of CtH on the github, right?

No. Wait for Ramkh to post a version of the mod on the Pbspy page of this game.

Starts are posted and map is done.

I strongly suggest to all players that you do not pick a naval civ. I can confirm that the map script is Highlands, clustered and dense peaks and there are no islands, with all players on the same landmass.

To all players: if you have questions, ask them in your thread. I am not promising to answer anything, but if you ask a question that I think you need to know the answer to I will answer it publicly here (and I will also post publicly if I am not answering any further questions). After all, this is a greens game, this map has not been made to trap anyone.

What's the nominal map size?

Nominal map size is small, both in game settings, and also the grid size used to generate the map.

I forget how much time we usually give for picks, but does like 1 or 2 more days sound reasonable? Not sure how many people are still deciding.
