Love the analysis!
Sounds like a fun minigame for the viewers while we wait for the map.
...speaking of which, each day that goes by I'm revising my estimate downward on this thing being "recognizably Big and Small".

I recognized some of them, but especially the older ones I also wouldn't mind little spoiler tags with which game it is from.

It will be recognisable. Yes, this is more editing than I was entirely comfortable with, but that shouldn't take away from the feel.

I do think the indication was clearly towards randomness, though there was limited direction.
I won't talk about what has changed since we rolled it, but I will say that I am very satisfied that the underlying map gave a very fun and interesting shape, and I'm glad that we selected it.

Pretty enough land. That wet rice that effortlessly shares rice/pigs with the capital is an obvious second city, although the peaks still existing definitely slow that first settler considerably.
The Avalon Hill game for this one has to be pretty obvious.

1776 (surprisingly helpful when I took American History in high school) Midway is a wonderful game...my great-grandfather served on the Enterprise so it was of particular interest to younger me.
I'd love to try 1776, heard very good things.
