I want to believe in Luddite, but I don't. We'll see.

By the by, Luddite should leave a warrior or an axe behind to cut roads if the musketeers start heading south.

We accept that players have different skill levels. It's possible to acknowledge that a game position should be capable of certain achievements, but the player is not.

The Artillery player should act as a weight on all the decision making, but whether Luddite can achieve local conquest of Cairo remains to be seen.

Its too late for it, but I really think Oxy should have been more interventionist and supported Yuris. Why go 1v1 when you could have had a 2v1?

Show of hands time: who, in Cairos' position, would attack the stack this turn? And who would try and hide in the city? And who would just run away with everything to buy more time for more musketeers?

My gut feeling is that I would need 20 musketeers to destroy the arty and AT without rediculous luck. So running away is the only option that helps to reach that magic number. But Luddite just needs to kill th ecity retreat and then add more units

I forget the geography past Rheims; I'd wait if I had another shot at that stack on flatland later on. Tricky.

So he's probably got to sacrifice two cities then. Might be the only way even still; just eyeballing it by unit base strength that's basically trying to kill off four chariots/four protective archers with a warrior swarm of twelve. I wouldn't do that.

By the way, I think with Scooter getting Optics now good and early Oxy's going to go splat. I guess there might be a small chance of base-trading.

I'm not so sure Scooter has the production muscle to splat Oxy. He said his limiting factor is whip anger, 2-3 in almost all cities now. Scooter has the GNP from the GLH and Financial, but it's not so easy to convert that into offense, particularly when you also need navy. Oxy can outproduce Scooter by a lot via Kremlin whips and also Police State from the 'mids.

I'm not sure how many Musketeers are on position, it looks like a dozen?  I'd want a minimum of 16 Musketeers if I don't have any cats or horchers ti send in first.  And I would be a lot more sanguine about my prospects if I had 24 Musketeers.  I would expect to lose 12-16  Musketeers getting that stack to the point where it could be cleaned up.   All of this is assuming no promotions on either stack.  Pinch Musketeers would perform a lot better, I'd attack with a dozen of them.  But with unpromoted musketeers retreat is probably the better option
