[pb74 spoilers] FUNNY IMAGE THREAD

lost a worker to a 23% barb attack roll. I sure love having barbs on!

what will it take to have good combat luck in one of these games...

at least the barb warrior suicided without causing any further damage. good thing i was prebuilding another warrior in the city it was next to...

baffling SD diplomacy. he sent me this after asking for war with plemo, I still have no military that isn't warriors...

seems like barb cities this early on monarch only spawn with warriors... INTERESTING...

and because i have a really shitty copper location that made no sense to settle, of course a barb spear immediately pops up on my borders.

yeah this is the last time i ever sign up for a game with barbs on.

have had almost no sleep in the last 24 hours. no one bit on my sub request in the main thread, so I guess this is for mmjd to use:

with the caveat of "if i get attacked just whip chariots"

does that work?

Do you have a preferred roading path?

If the barb spear steps on the wheat what then? / what if the spear wins?
Reply

E-E-E for the road path, unless it becomes impossible to settle that city site.

If the spear decides to pillage the wheat, not much to do besides wait for it to attack. If it attacks and wins, whip the chariot so it would have to win again to take the city

Barb spear won its 65% fight with descent bit of health left, so whipped chariot. Hopefully it suicides on remaining warrior.

Pic has a city down there, but since it didn't have a ton of overlap and doesn't contest the corn moved settler to your indicated tile. I'm assuming you want me to settle next turn?

What do you want the worker that finished the chop to do next?

So I was waiting to play this turn for instruction just in case, but then Pic posted and I figured I messed up and should have taken a look last night because yaaa I would prefer instruction here.

I'm assuming Pics post was about turn order and I assume it was determined Greenline / I go first. So 100% I can settle this. Technically my instructions say to "try", and I was willing to with minor tile overlap, but want to double check here. I can move 2nd chariot to where workers are now and it can even hit the forest tile next turn if he moves in. I could also move warrior 1E of corn to check tiles south of lake first, but that means it can't be in the city next turn.

I figure the worker that finished chop should either 1T chop then road 1SE of AK for faster movement or move onto gold this turn to road that, but unsure which.

Lurker opinion if I don't hear from Greenline tomorrow? Technically my instructions say to "try and settle". I would probably move the warrior 1E of corn first.

Correct.

greenline's post in the replacements thread implies he'll not be in contact until ~5th Nov, so I wouldn't bank on receiving guidance. My opinion: grab the spot as instructed and adapt the rest of the plan as needed to secure it.
