If Plemo just wants to raze them then yeah, I don't think he can be stopped; I think the rest of Tarkeel's units are too far away to get back. He does have a second Chariot in the North (I think) and a Warrior nosing along the border though, so I don't think Plemo could keep Catan with just a single ship of 2 Axes.
The Workers are in the right place to connect the Copper quickly, but even with my pre-road on the Copper, unless Tarkeel also pre-roaded the Corn it'd be 2turns.

Seems like plemo really threw people for a loop by obscuring his score changes on what sounds like 3 occasions. He certainly keeps a full bag of tricks.

He hasn't posted it yet, but the spy says he's burnt their capital...

yeah, he burnt it (just posted in the german forum). One promoted spear even has reasonable odds to survive.
While this is "interesting" stuff for a lurker, it's also a bit sad because I wanted to see how it works out for tarkeel/civac having two capitals but less developed lands.
I guess it's very hard for anyone to keep up with plemo now. He might be lucky with the general polical situation. Enough room to expand some more. Agressive borders to the north (maybe his neighbour is not pleased and plans something... but we don't know). And no competition in the south for a while, as long as tarkeel recovers.
Other people had to deal more with other people... if that sentence makes sense...

TBH, Tarkeel’s best option right now might be to abandon his own lands and use mine and his current military advantage to take Amica’s. Not sure if that’s emotionally possible though.

Yeah, I was thinking of Tarkeel and Civac as the neighbour with the best chance of constraining Plemo, but he played that relationship very well.

This just comes down to bad decision making. Failure to scout their north west led to a chain reaction. It's another game where scouting failures break most of the game.

@Dreylin - Thanks for taking care of the coinflip situation. I will say I wish literally anyone had just confirmed his correct intuition faster.
@Q - Map is probably about the right tightness. Literally only SD wanted a lot of room. Major killer in these big games is how big they are, so seems fine.
I will say one of the problems with using a random base is that yes jungle belts exist and that obviously impacts expansion direction.

Ya T/C losing their capital is a big ouch, but I hardly think its time for them to abandon their other 2 cities there. Plemo is running about the same as I was in PB66 with Imp, so definitely chance of someone else on the map stepping up still. Its really unfortunate that Commodore and Pin are across from each other. Also, I think this is the most 3 city empires I've seen post T60 ever......... Including of course SD on Plemos other side. 4 cities by T55 and 5 around T60 is pretty good goals for non imp (not that you can't do faster).

BTW I really do feel bad for losing that 70% chariot fight for Greenline, not that I could do anything about it, but that was really bad for him.
I know I said I could somewhat understand settling for gold as long as he compensated. I was wrong; there is no reason for that. I had forgotten when I wrote that that Greenline has a holy city 3 tiles away..... so it would have grabbed the gold without him having to settle 1st ring.
