Seems like the classic “why won’t they accept peace, I only crippled them a /little/“ refrain. It doesn’t help that everyone sees plemo as far out ahead of the pack - and in Amica’s case nearby - so why survive if there’s no chance of competing long term?

I'm not sure how much destruction Plemo inflinted on SD.
Plemo poisened his relations with tarkeel, but I think he has only -20 for being Plemo and - 20 for being point leader with SD. Not - 10 for crippling our vitory chance like with tarkeel.
And this seems to be Plemos main problem. Plemos needs his army to defend both borders.
tarkeel is his fault, but I'm not sure what Plemo can have done better with SD.
The other contenders can farm relative easy - Commodore is farming Bing, Picca is farming Greenline and Gav had overrun me and can farm scooter and GT. Pin got stuck in the jungle, but I think that is Pin fault. Not really prepared for a longer war and like Drealin wrote "why won’t they accept peace, I captured a quarter of the cities, not a half".
Plemo has a strong lead in power and a weak neighbour - tarkeel - but he can't commit to an attack, because this would leave his other bother open. And SD shows that he would use this.
And SD attacks is - from Plemo's PoV - more or less pointless.
I expect as result maybe 2 cities lost for Plemo, but a wipe of SD's army and no real garnison in the western parts of SD empire. This would result in an early loss for SD and a stumble in the victory race for Plemo.
Greenlines mainland is conquered, the indian army is idle, the babylonian border not fortified. Indian Pyramids are nothing Plemo wants.

The difference is that Pin didn't actually pick that fight, Amicalola started it.

Amica would claim Pin started it by settling his land. As I stated at the time I can see both perspectives.

No, Amica is just straight in the wrong there, just like superdeath usually is in most of his games. Taking this line of reasoning reaches the conclusion that is the QotM.
Like most players on this forum, his scouting is poor so he doesn't know what to prioritise. Pindicator doesn't even rush to the north. It's the last place he tries to settle, and it's still available, so he settles it. Amica uses an axe stack to take the city, then he can't hold it because he couldn't build a good enough tech base, and then he loses a bunch more cities. He had numerous other choices but Amica reached this point because of his own decisions. Pindi reached this point because of Amica, and not his own decisions.
Pin simply played the game and Amica didn't like it, failed to make it stick, then throws his game when he doesn't get what ghe wants like a spoilt child.

Plemo says ‘I would have been interested in a NAP with SD.”
Lurkers: “You do realize this is SD you are talking about here.”

Pin made the choice to attack.
And I'm very interested to learn, where you think, Amica throws the game away ?

Amica attacked first.
Now could he have let it go. Yes. But for the same reason Commodore didn't go after Tarkeel (IE just give more to Plemo / then border Plemo) Amica couldn't go that way. I can understand Amica trying to do a bit of border adjustment against an unprepared opponent. But then Amica made the mistake of keeping it / not preparing for Pind to respond.

Scouts cost hammers. Nobody wants to spend hammers on that and fall behind on workers and settlers and granaries.
For the cases of "why didn't you take this route" or "why didn't you defog this one tile" - that's emergent behavior incrementally, where each turn the scout has some higher priority instead. It's easy to monday-morning-quarterback what they missed after the fact, when you're not cognizant of the opportunity cost of what they wouldn't have gotten if they had done what you're talking about.

And Plemo destroyed SD Stack. At least 3 viking generals and I think between 0-1 for SD.
