My idea was rather about using them for bombarding, like with a fireball, but yeah I don't mind taking them all the way to Q's capital either

Q was acting suspiciously with galleys in the south and north, so I am asking for clarification. Cleared the 2 galleys and that horse scout and offered peace. He has some 20 horses in range of Godric's Hollow though (most, but not all, healthy), so he might want to continue fighting. I scrambled to concentrate sufficient swords, Patroni and wizards to hold. it's in my collection of Screenshots that Didn't Take)
coldrain attacked out and took some swords down. We killed the rest of his army losing another sword, and captured the capital plus Darkroot Garden in the east (with a fireball and Patronus, so he can easily take it back). Also no screenie It should be no issue to absorb the remainder of Elfland unless Q interferes, which I guess is likely to happen.
Even Bing is coming looking for pain. If he has more than that it could become an issue. As you see, I don't even have an adept down there to cast an eye (Hermione, who usually did, cast the fireball to sink the galley threatening Khazad-Dum, which triggered the whole war). Although, kingmaking much?

Beware of Bing's world spell when Arcane Lacuna wears off. And Q's too, for that matter. It sounds like you may have the momentum to roll over the rest of the map, though?
The floating eye issue is one I experienced when I was playing turns: it feels like a waste to have a mage cast it, but information is critical. And the pipeline of adepts keep maturing into mages themselves.

I assumed floating eyes would see through the Sidar worldspell, am I wrong there? Should I test it?
Q's WS is something we'll have to live with, yeah. Probably best to start the war now when he can't use it yet.

I'm 99% sure floating eyes work against the Sidar worldspell; it's just tedious to avoid having a gap in coverage that a unit could sneak through.
Note that Maelstrom is also good for finding invisible units; it doesn't reveal them but does damage them and (briefly) place a marker on their tile.

eh, I guess I'm not supposed to accept this, but maybe lurkers should go and ask around for general sentiment...?

For perspective. Q had thrown his cavalry against Godric's without success, and we are trying to respond. He has significant strategic depth yet, and with 4-5 moves on every unit can fight on 2 fronts, which for us is more difficult. But apparently he doesn't really believe he can get anywhere. coldrain is down to one city, and unless Q causes a big surprise riding through his territory and murdering some wizards it'll be over for him next turn.
Bing is timidly scouting us. So far I am only showing him Patroni, but we could also warpeace.
Sometime soon our worldspell is ending! We cast it t89, it is t101now. is it over t103 or t104? Good thing we just killed a bunch of horsies, but still, better watch out....

It's not officially a world feature; just a "landmark" (visible-to-all unremovable sign) I put on the map. I did write some flavor text about it to post for anyone who shows it or asks about it in their thread though:
Syraethe's Stand Wrote:Rumors are spreading about the site of a terrible battle between the living and the dead that took place soon after the glaciers receded from an ancient vault. Many died and rose again to do battle against life, and the master of the undying army was only thrown down and destroyed when one who dared stand alone against it in the face of the deathless hordes transformed the power of the vault itself. Tales vary with the tellers and the audience and with time, but it is said that Syraethe, the mysterious general who led the living army, ultimately gave her life to effect the transformation in a last and desperate stand. Some say her courageous spirit still watches over the site where the vault once stood, but all agree that afterward, when the corpses were carried away - some perhaps still restless - and cairns or tombstones raised above them all, then whatever became of Syraethe's spirit, her body was never found.
(Bradeline's Well is an official world feature, and an "Epic Dungeon" - but it doesn't come with Entropy mana, nor with any other mana type.)
Forgot to express my appreciation of this, very nice how you include an own story in the map.
Btw in ExtraModMod Bradeline's Well does give entropy mana, hence my confusion.
I also hope that we'll have a chance yet this game to explore an epic dungeon. The Pyre is still there. Of course, everybody is busy warfighting... but it might actually be Harry, accompanied by Hermione, who could have the chance yet

Note that you can inhibit unit spawns from lairs by covering all 8 tiles around the lair with units. Unit type doesn't matter: mainline military unit, summon, worker, etc. Some consider this an exploit, but EitB seems to be a game of who can bend the rules furthest in their favor.
I'm pretty sure that exploring the Pyre will convert it to an untyped mana node, so if you're relying on that fire mana you should have some adepts/mages standing by.

Once the Epic lair on the Pyre is gone the node reverts to an unimproved Fire node, not an untyped one.
