Normally "saying something wrong" is on the list pretty high, but nobody complained about me talking about bulbing CS->Guilds, when Paper blocks the easy bulb. I should have said I was planning on hand-researching the cheaper Paper myself, but with all the KTB I'm getting on CS it actually might be faster to research that (7t) and then just bulb/bulb Paper/Guilds.

Oh, right, Pindicator has Civil Service and Machinery, so he's playing with maces. That's a higher base strength unit than anything I have, just about even odds on a C2/Shock keshik.

...and here's the setup. He can definitely whack my wounded (1.7/2) trireme with that pair, but then he's in Big Trouble down in his capital area. Unless he's about to pop another trireme, this is a potentially very fun setup. No idea if his island is cut off by this, think it matters what's unfogged?

NB: Pindicator can still make horse archers, he took the barb city over on Yuri's side.

A lot of growth in Prezewalski's and Lipizzaner, getting ready for a stint in Caste/Pacifism. It's nicely timed to pop borders in the two new cities (Friesian and Appaloosa) as well. Feels wrong to have so few improved capital tiles, but I'm about to have Guilds boosting workshops, so a workshopsplosian is coming in hot. Prime Heroic Epic spot here. 

I...like my current demographics. Seed corn is delicious and I cannot endorse the eating of it enough.


Here's a lurker question: Any favorite horse breeds? After the Caste/Pacifism stint I'm going to be banging out two more settlers and I'm game for suggestions.

Well that sort of thing falls into the "does telling a player they are wrong fall into giving advice" gap. I suspect a lot of my erroneous posts get lurker thread comments rather than "WTF you noob" in my own thread.

You had me with the capital. I grew up near a Safari Park that contributed to the recovery, so have always had a soft spot for them.

For something appropriate to the violence and horror levels of this game: "Mari Lywd".

Well, this fun romp might be over. I'll look here and there for some opportunities but those OP Spanish Castles mean attacking is going to *suck*. It's fine, well played Pin...you might get that development game of yours after all.

Well, pike smacked my keshik, so I have no deep intel. Pulling back a bit...

...and I'm willing to take a swing at the forward city next turn if odds look okay.

Otherwise, just turtle a power to knights.

One of the under-discussed other reasons why this is a crazily war-focused map, in addition to the Inner Death Ring and generally small size, is how very juiced the core area is economically. Appaloosa was placed where it was so that it'll contribute quickly economically. Look how well this thing pays for itself...instantly. Why invest long-term? There's Serfdom farms, silk plantations, and silver/gold riverside.

The Akhal-Teke, utterly gorgeous creatures and quite fitting for your current plays.
