The Akhal-Teke, utterly gorgeous creatures and quite fitting for your current plays. I love those, weird-looking horses:

Interesting thing about these games.
It's a very scrappy game.
Pindicator, even Scooter, aren't out of it.
Trouble is, morale is to material as ten is to one.
I suspect this makes Pindicator want to tap out.
(Keshiks are GREAT man...)
Scooter is still making moves, but it feels rote.
So really, it's about me vs. Thoth.
But we can't reach each other, so it's these proxy conflicts.
Yuri's religious people know he's dying, so they're fleeing.
I think Pin's in hopeless grind mode, so let's focus on the duel.

hii sorry you have been the latest victim of my common behavior pattern of "join game as DL, get ludicrously distracted by own game, fail to contribute meaningfully to lurking"
what was the hammer exchange when burning that pin city? i am always surprised to see people attacking INTO pikes and elephants with horse archer-caliber units in this game and still winning.... if you did not think it would demoralize pin and lead to further mistakes, would it still have been the right move in your estimation? slash, if pin upon finding you as a neighbor immediately assumed you would attack them, what would they needed to have done defensively to make you decide not to attack? (i guess part of the answer is "establish a reputation as someone who is harder to demoralize"?)

Hammer exchange for the city itself was great, lost 1 WE and 2 keshiks (160h) for the city, pike, mace, WE, and crossbow (398h). This was a completely average result...8 XP horse archers are brutal, and the city was flatland without any cultural defense. If he'd been able to chop a citadel it would have been a lot different, which is why I pushed hard.

And what are you going to do with the GG, four promo keshiks must be better than three promo keshiks... Yeah, as with everything in Civ 4, it's a ruthless game of trade-offs. The 3XP never mattered, so I didn't, but when I land a GG you better believe I'm going to toss down a barracks in my Heroic Epic spot to get 13xp knights. Unfortunately, my micro is a little messed up in the capital, because Scooter is telling me I need to reinforce his border...
...wouldn't be a bit deal, but Lipizzaner is going to be popping its GP next turn come hell or high water:
I'm concerned about the Great Prophet points, of course, but Civ is a series of die-rolls.
Amusingly, somebody did decide to settle the center jungle island. That's a valuable bit to capture for someone, not having to pay the 148h settler cost is a real bonus.
Do barbarian cities spawn with granary/lighthouse in Med Era starts?

You better believe you are going to build a barracks in the HE city. Good luck building without one.
Also no idea about barbs and buildings in spawned cities. Go explore and found out for us.

Easy GM, landed. Now let's hope for a 74% shot landing for the Lipizzaner Great Merchant...I could fire most of the Great Merchants and still get one next turn, but that reduces the odds. Really, really want to be able to land Guilds.
Barbarians are spawning in the wastelands, now, and they're spawning HORSE ARCHERS. Fine right here, but would be dangerous elsewhere.
