Doesn't caravel chaining use up a unit's movement when it switches boats?  I'm not sure this works the way Commodore thinks - but we shouldn't offer mechanic suggestions unless he asks, right?

It does. You need movement points left to conduct the mission? I think correcting faulty mechanics assumptions is OK? Not sure.

It sounds like he knows. "the turn after landing"

Never mind I see what he means now. The turn he gets (lands) the merchant, it will load onto a caravel and then keep chaining to more, until the last one is within 4 spaces of the target city. Then the turn after, that last caravel sails into the city with the merchant's movement available to do the trade mission.

Does the map wrap either way.

I believe it wraps W-E, but since Commodore is playing it’s not toroidal.

I wish Scooters attack had a couple more cats or heck a trebuchet why not.

Im pretty late catching up on this thread but this is a theme. We're all used to knights being so amazing that we start overestimating the wunderwaffe

How much tech has Thoth sacrificed by prosecuting the Yuri war? How far behind is he Pindicator and Commodore?

Thoth can only be beaten in two ways: by movement, and attacking where he doesn't have units, and numbers. He can't be beaten on quality, even with a tech advantage he should cover the power difference just on promotions on defense.

If he can survive the naval game then it's going to be incredibly hard to keep a lid on him for all the other players. Not impossible, but I would rather be in Thoths position than anyone elses.

Thoth basically have the land of two Civs, and will get a third one eventually (scooter) while pindicator and Commodore whack each other.. unless they both realize that soon it's too late to stop Thoth, he has that game in the sack.
