[Spoilers] Ibuprofen and Eyeglasses: Thoth plays a Middle Aged game

True but that's not the big picture answer I was looking for twirl

40 hpt would have been nice but it would have cost me more hammers than I wanted to spend in order to grow the extra pop. I've needed every hammer I could get out of this city. I've either been preparing for war or at war since turn 25 or so and for a significant chunk of that time I was fighting at a tech disadvantage.

I'm perfectly content with what I've got here. goodjob

Can lurkers please get an empire overview shot please.

Well, I'm probably fucked. lol

As I'm sure he's already reported, Pindicator sent a 75ish unit stack including a baker's dozen Riflemen and 24ish siege. His timing is solid, if he'd given me another 4-5 turns I'd be fine. As it is I'll likely be trading land for time while I get a few units shifted from one front to the other. He's also got a stack of galleons in the outer sea in position to threaten my city there. I sniped two of his covering Privateers with Frigates but if he's got enough units on those galleons he can likely burn the city next turn.

Having to pull my attack forces out of position to hit Commodore's coastal cities isn't great either. It allows his to consolidate his knights and attempt another invasion which means I need to keep defensive forces on hand. Another couple of turns and I was set to be sniping coastal cities from Commodore with CR3/Amphib Grennies upgraded from Bezerkers.

But I don't have those turns and so it's likely going to all come undone.

But we shall see what I can put together in terms of defense.

It takes two to cover the empire right now.  wink

South towards Commodore:

North (and East) towards Pindicator:

And the battlefield:

Not shown are the dozen catapults plus assorted other units that can strike next turn.   Thanks to my transport navy and a preplaced supermedic (did I mention that being able to spam them is very handy sometimes?)  the amphibious grenadiers that had been farming Commodore's island garrison for xp will be at full health and in position to assist with an assault on Pindicator's stack next turn.

Pindicator can burn Locaber Axe next turn if he's willing to sacrifice most of his cats and (hopefully) some of his hitters.   My top defenders should be a tough nut to crack but once he's through them it will get easier for him.   Or he might just sit for a turn and bombard down the defenses first.   I'm fine with that.  Every turn means more units in play and in theatre.

"Can you hear our battle cry?  GLORY! GLORY"

Ran out of hitters but did manage a couple of flanking kills on trebuchets and made a rare use of Blitz on a Knight for another kill.

So I didn't manage to completely bodybag Pindicator's entire 70+ unit stack but he either retreats the remains or I stack wipe his remnants next turn.

Full log (left to right, bottom to top)

After the catapults had finished everything was in the 75-98% range.  Lost a few 90+% fights and none of my cats retreated but I did win most of my 75% range battles so I'm calling that a wash luck-wise.  I might have taken a couple of lower odds shots with C3 knights instead of C4 if I'd remembered Blitz in time but I'm fine with the battle outcome.  goodjob

Stacks (with before and after of Pindicator's stack)

Demographics have Pindicator and Commodore with similar power levels now with me at ~1.5 times either of their power.

At this point I'm willing to accept concessions from Pindicator and Commodore.   But I suspect I'll have to burn a few cities first.

Still a fun game to watch hammer

It's been a fun ride (mostly). smile

Quick look ingame this morning shows that Pindicator decided to retreat rather than suicide against my stack.

Dull turn for the most part, healing and redeploying forces.

Commodore spent 3 cats and 4 knights to kill 4 defenders in Trident (his former island city).  I reinforced with a CG3/C2 Grenadier, a C2/Pinch Knight, and another catapult.  I'm aiming to peel his WII muskets off the forests with a pair of WIII/C1/Pinch Grennies (and a catapult) in a couple of turns.

Ending turn produced a nice event:

Handy if I ever stop upgrading Zerks to grennies.

This is very unlikely to happen before the end of the game.  mischief
