after 40 odd turns of research, i finally discover astronomy! only to find i can't build galleons without paper  . 10 more turns to research that, and i promise you i will found a colony, even if it is an artic waste city with zero food resources.

For whatever reason (I guess he prefers having me as a buffer state to culturally pressure picadilly?) Gavagai decided to be a pal and drop off some redcoats / machine guns to hold off superdeath, along with destroyers to keep his second wave from arriving. Given that Gavagai and Commodore both have modern ships swimming around it shows that I could be obliterated in two seconds if one of them really wanted me dead, which makes my survival to this point all the more miraculous...

Superdeath really did build something like 60+ galleys and triremes just to invade me instead of teching astronomy, btw

Even with 11 redcoats attacking out, superdeath has so+much+junk that I might lose a city anyway. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, this is superdeath we are talking about.

superdeath used all his cats to attack a stack of crossbows i was moving on a forest hill. gavagai savaged his forces with 15 or so redcoats - this let me finish off every last straggler




Normally, I'd stay at war for this injustice, but I will see about signing peace next turn just for the sake of turnpace.

Ginger's team got a golden age, so I fear that they might attack Gavagai soon and my civ would be caught in the crossfire.

there is a possibility superdeath builds another fleet and comes back... i am hoping i can spam out enough galleons starting next turn to keep him at bay without gavagai's help

Oh, that's why SD couldn't finish Piccadilly off.

Gavagai must feel pretty secure in his position to be cavorting around with 20+ units on a sidequest instead of having these guys on costal defense duty. I wonder what's up with Commodore / Pindicator.
