probably the end:
My stupid sluggish caravels were one turn away from being able to intercept. And of course, my one galleon in range died.

Plemo actually didn't want to kill me, perhaps seeing how worthless 2 size 1 artic fishing villages were. So he took peace for some pennies.
Attempting to make a screening force with my remaining ships. Won't do anything against the oil navies running around, but maybe I can deter someone if they just discovered astro. Need to get some longbows so I'm not a complete sitting duck here.

must be this BLOODYHELL difficulty setting where you start with a medieval arctic village and others have full grown modern empires

almost ready to whip a workboat...
A lot of ships in this part of the world
In a twist of fate, Plemo and Piccadilly both tore apart superdeath's empire, leaving him with one island city left. Plemo is at peace, so I do not think piccadilly can finish him off, given that he never had the navy to hit my island cities either. Still, funny to think I might outlive him too.

sub instructions:
basically, the civ is dead if anyone looks at it funny. the best you can do is swap to slavery after the borders pop in CHEAPFROZENFISH, and get some workboats out. then the cities would want a longbow defender, a lighthouse. the next priority would be some more galleons and then maybe a settler to keep running towards more desolate corners of the map. i've put wooden ships around that are helpless against destroyers + transports running around, but may be enough to stop a galleon attack if lucky. there was a brief scuffle with plemo earlier - i thought he was going to eliminate me and declared war, he asked for some gold as an apology payment.

Understood. Logged in and played successfully.
Set Gold to 100% and selected Engineering for the next technology. Continued scouting with your distant Caravels.
Miguelito has a Galleon in sight nearby but not in range of either of your cities.
Nothing else to report. Have a good trip. .

Played Turn 238. Still alive and at peace.
Sent two Caravels looking for more icy islands, but no luck so far.
The others I clustered around your colonies to perhaps inconvenience modern ships if they try to land an attack force.
The far exploring Caravel by Miguelito saw Ferdinand Magellan walking around in his terriroty, so you are vicariously a witness to something that is probably of global importance.
Work Boats not done yet.
Revolted to Slavery and Paganism (for lower maintenance).
Set research to Civil Service. I noticed you already have some beakers in it, and Bureaucracy could actually be useful. Still saving gold for now.
