That said, with Civ specifically, I preordered Civ5 and Civ6, regretted both, and definitely don't anticipate buying Civ7 until months if not years after release

Civ peaked for me with 4. 5 was a snooze fest. 6 I was overloaded with everything going on.

Doesn't mean I can't have fun at their expense, guessing release date and what the first major game breaking game will be.

A new trailer with some in-game graphics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK_JrrP9m2U) and a release date of Feb 11, 2025 is now out. It looks like Civ 6 but with better (less cartoony) graphics.
