Yeah, I don't think I've read enough of Superdeath's threads / he's reported consistently enough to know if that's the sort of thing he'd notice.
He /has/ whipped off 14 pop in the last 3 turns, so I'm pretty glad he had Magic Science to occupy him....

T88 - misunderstandings
Diplo this turn from Superdeath was Copper/Copper and I declare war on Magic Science. However they also signed peace this turn so that's not happening immediately (neither of us have Currency for better signaling).
I am still up for that collaboration, but I wanted to let Superdeath know that I want the chokepoint Pink Dot site. So I tried this:
Intending to mean "I want the Sheep near Casey's". But after sending it I had second thoughts that he will interpret that as my wanting Casey's as well. So I sent again and added Chapel from my side to try to imply the Sheep between the two. I think he may be aiming to settle the spot SW of my dot because the Worker has now roaded the hill N of Casey's and he stopped the Chariot on that spot. I could probably live with that if it didn't claim the entire coastal section and block me from Orange dot.
I'm pretty sure we're in a race here, and I'm not certain that I can win it.

OK, after thinking about it some more I realised that positioning the Chariot where it is is actually prevents me from declaring and sniping the Worker, so it doesn't necessarily indicate that he is reserving that spot. OTOH, the fact that the Worker has placed down a Road on that hill does imply an intent to settle Northwards.
I went back in a took a shot of the area so I can look at options:
You can see where the Settler is and that I can't plant Pink for another 3turns. I considered the option of moving to Orange next turn to declare intent, but then I realised that Black is a better back-up option that can be founded the same turn as Orange and a turn before Pink. It's not as good of a chokepoint, but it claims the Clams, Sheep and two forested coasts and can share the Pigs from Chapel. Orange can move inland (NW or 2W) as a filler.
So we wait on diplo and visibility next turn...

Is that a lake or a sea?

It’s a sea.

I count 12 tiles, so it's salty at the very least.

T89 - strategic retreat
I'm not particularly sure what this means:
But I can guess:
At least it's nice being right about him Oracling Feudalism.
So I could take the 50/50 on the Chariot fight, then if I win hit the Worker with the Quechua which would stop him settling next turn; I claim black dot and then we fight a lot and I likely lose because I don't have the forces in the area. Or I can try to salvage something from this and see if he's willing to compromise.
So I moved my Settler onto Orange Dot and retreated the Quechua and Chariot. Then I sent a diplo message to try to make sure the Settler is noticed, followed by a Pig/Pig and a Copper/Copper/War with Magic to try and indicate future cooperation. Hopefully he is feeling cooperative and settles Pink rather than his coastal spot that kills Orange.

Well it could have been worse:
I considered naming the city "KHAAAAAAN", but thought that might be a bit too much.
FWIW this is Pike from Original Series, not Brave New World since I haven't watched that. I was going to move on to Next Gen, but this doesn't really strike me as a Picard quality location.

Agreed. This isn't Captain Hair's location (and it's Strange New Worlds), it's "one beep for yes."

Interesting choice by SD to Oracle feudalism. Is this purely defensive play, or going for guilds sooner or later might be on his mind?
Speaking of military, I wonder what's the best use for horse archers after the barb clean-up? Use as defensive reaction force and build up economy, or turn yourself to a barbarian and go raiding?
