Sorry but I might be delayed getting to the turn until tomorrow. I'm doing some work updating a server and swapping some disks between computers and my desktop is now refusing to boot. I know what the problem is and it's being fixed but I'm unlikely to get to the turn until the morning

So...as a bit of an update, my PC is not fixed, windows is borked on a drive I was intending to clone (I suspect it's to do with the replacement drive not being properly formatted so it's my own fault), and I needed to reuse the original drive in the home server. To cut to the chase I've wiped the windows install, and I'm in the process of setting up Linux Mint on my PC: I know I can install Civ 4 on that over the weekend, but until then the backup PB server is being used to play the turns for PB80, but it's a little...buggy, graphically. For example coastal tiles show up as 3 food and no commerce. It's a graphical bug only, due to the other figures calculating correctly (edit: when I've verified a random selection ie beaker output and city costs in some cities), but if things start to look truly weird I might need a short pause.

The greatest potential barrier is that I do not have a working copy of windows in any format so if I struggle with the installation onto Mint I might need some time ie until Zulan gets back next week.

No worries. Let us know if you need the pause.

Because I've seen a couple requests lately, can we clarify the map trading rule? I thought it was banned this game?

Searching the entire thread, map trading is only metioned twice before today, the initial post says "Map Trading ???", and then Krill was the only one to express preference for no map trading

I have no particular preference

I've been assuming they're banned...so, voting ban?

I had assumed that since the option was enabled in the settings that it was ok.

I'm fine either way. smile
