Gotta play without screenshots since Uberfish yelled at us
T16 - Crafting in. Ancient Chants (Education prereq) due in 8t, Calendar is a 14t detour if we want to go there.
Last turn our scout due south of our cap spotted the Guardian of the Pass unique feature (spawns multiple strength 8 Gargoyles if a unit gets within 1 tile) so he's turning around.
Northern scout is fully healed and explores some more tiles...and lands next to a bear ![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) Scout is C2, but there is still a ~75% chance for him to die. Sorry.
Worker due this interturn. Darrell, we want to farm before we Winery, right?

I think units with Poison strength bonus poison a unit if it succeeds in injuring its opponent - if it doesn't even deal a scratch, the unit doesn't get poisoned.
I'm not sure what happens if it attacks and fails to scratch an already injured unit, but I think it shouldn't poison the unit. Can someone confirm?

You're probably right. The bolded part actually isn't ever an issue AFAIK, since IIRC the poison status effect goes away when a unit is fully healed. But it would be an issue on a pre-wounded defender. That said, we'll never give a barb 1v1 if we can help it, so if we have a pre-wounded defender it will probably be the lower defender anyways.
Also, you are correct about the source of my Uberfish reference.

Correct. I think we can hold off on Calendar for the time being, but we'll want it before CoL to get the Incense hooked up.

T17 - Our NE scout did indeed die to a bear, sorry little guy.
Worker complete, will start farming next turn. Started another bloodpet in our cap, due in 3t. We're still working a 2/1/1 unimproved wheat and a 2/0/3 unimproved wines, which I think are the best tiles to work.
Southern scout continues to backtrack to avoid the Pass.

I appreciate we both view each others' civs as dangerous opponents, but mutual respect is probably the best foundation for a relationship in this game, as such I'd be open to exchanging some information. Of particular interest to me, of course, is the timing of when you plan to use your world spell. For my part I have no intention of using mine except as an emergency defensive card.
Quote:Yeah, your world spell is pretty much a (powerful) deterrent, no surprise there. In the interest of good relations we have no problem sharing the timing with you as long as you agree not to keep it confidential. At this point there is a bit of disagreement on what the best time to use it is, but I can say we aren't going to fire it in the immediate future. Are you looking for something along the lines of a 10 turn warning?
Do you want to start sharing info on the map, other players met, etc? We can't trade maps yet but we can give general descriptions, and perhaps share a theory or two :-).
