No IW as yet - currently working on Maths and then it will either be Monarchy or IW.

Giants city is to pick up copper and marble. Next city will probably be 'sealer' city or on one of the mythical islands.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

emails to Kodii and Pegasus ... identical emails ...
Quote:Kodi or Pegasus,

A war declaration! Wow - interesting times. While we are talking - are you interested in a NAP through to T100? I know that we haven't talked much and that we are miles (and miles) apart, but it doesn't hurt to start talking.

Regards,

Ruff
Edit: Yes, pegasus (2 cities) declared on Kodii (was 5 cities, now 4).

discussion with Pegasus ...
Quote:
  • Pegasus: Hey
  • Ruff: hi there
did you kill 1 of Kodii's cities?
  • Pegasus: We sort of had a dispute over borders
  • Ruff: <grin?
don't think you can call razing a city a 'sort of' dispute
    but interesting either way
guess he was playing fast and loose with a token defense
or you had enough units on hand
  • Pegasus: no he only had 1 unit
I did ask him before settling if he would consider moving it
  • Ruff: so - what are your future war plans
just an opportunity strike or something bigger?
  • Pegasus: I was hoping for a peaceful game
and am still working towards that - it's just got a little complicated over on the east
  • Ruff: do you have enough land to expand into for a peaceful game?
  • Pegasus: as a MP noob - probably not! But it was my original plan
  • Ruff: fair enough
  • Pegasus: He hemmed me in and then offered me open borders
  • Ruff: anyway - interested in nap to T100? I have some standard clauses that I can send you if you are interested in discussing a NAP
  • Pegasus: It just felt like I was there for the taking later in the game
  • Ruff: well - better now while it is still slightly even
  • Pegasus: I have no real preference on NAPs - but would entertain one if you were interested
That was my conclusion - proabbly no better chance to deal with it
  • Ruff: ok - will send you my standard clauses
well - good luck with Kodii
  • Pegasus: thanks

Quote:Pegasus,

Standard NAP clauses ...

NAP expires at Turn X

X-15: Automatic offer to extend NAP 10 turns (both sides must agree to actually extend NAP)
X-10: All units must leave each other's lands
X-5: Borders closed
X: Trade deals canceled
X: NAP expires

Cheers,

Ruff

from Pegasus Wrote:1) Initial start is minimum 20 turn NAP
2) Whoever closes this agreement agrees to allowing the other player a 10 turn notice period (i.e. they get to play 10 of their turns before expiry)
3) NAP renews every turn until option 2 is activated
4) Any enemy units coming through either of our lands will be communicated
Quote:Agreed!

But I don't think that clause 4 will every be an issue given my understanding of our map location.

The Treaty of City Neutrality states that both parties agree not to accept cities from a third party whom the other party is at war with. Neither are they to accept cities with the intention of depriving it from the other party the Neutrality Treaty is signed with. Or basically, no accepting city giving cheese if it hurts the other party or deprives them of their rightful conquests. This includes colonies and far-off holdings- For example, Whosit's gift of his Centralia colonies in PB2 which unintentionally deprived Spulla of them (Spulla, if memory serves, were planning a surprise attack with their Fast Workers).

T79 and the Oracle hasn't fallen yet ... I wonder if people are starting to look at it?

I'm looking at it ... not too hard and not to such an extent that not getting it will kill me. Marble is on line next turn and I have a settler at 59/100 that I will whip ... putting about 60-70 hammers into the 150h wonder. It doesn't make any sense to build the Oracle in any other city than my capital (double up on the GPriest points from Stonehenge) but that city is pretty much tapped out re forests.

So - it will take me about 7-8 turns to finish it (from T81) which will mean I can grab Civil Service (Code of Laws due in about 7 turns).

I also have a galley out in the South (with my Woodie II warrior) to scout some of those islands Sylon told me about. I'll do a update with pics tomorrow.

How would you suggest I do that and get that settler out? I wouldn't mind the cash - allow me to finish Monarchy / IW.
