I suppose we should start a thread at some point. Especially since Dazed & Scooter started one as well. Speaking of; Dazed, Scooter, if you're reading this and the game isn't over, get lost :neenernee.

Checking in! Not really much to say about the start at the moment, hopefully we'll all be online at the same time soon so that we can blow through these boring Normal speed opening turns.

Hey, uh, Krill? I think I found a fairly major imbalance in your map.

Now here's the same area on my side of the map:






There's something missing, notably- where the heck is my copper?! I haven't explored the entire map yet, so perhaps I have another source that I'm intended to use, but given how every single other resource and tile appears to be mirrored, I'm guessing that this wasn't an intentional oversight. If it is accidental, then this is a major problem, since I'm going to be stuck waiting for Sareln to road all the way to my capital, while Dazed can rush me with impi as soon as he gets his second city up.

Checking now...ah, I know what the issue was, I can get the game fixed and back to you at turn 13 later today. I just need to know your build orders and password, and a copy of the latest save. Tech path as well.

Sareln started off with a workboat, working the plains forest hill, and then started a second one while working the fish (and just grew like last turn I think).


I've just been building a worker since turn 1, working the one of the ivories or the wheat mostly (I switched to the sugar for a couple turns just to goof around with the demographics).



Dazed built a warrior and grew to size 2, you'll have to ask him for exact details though. No idea what scooter has been doing.


Tech path was mining -> BW.


Password is unchanged from what you initially set.

Krill's solution was to delete Dazed's copper. So the teams right now have only one source of copper to two players. Iiiinteresting...

First Big Choice of the game:






I'm sure that lurkers know the details from the other guy's thread, but here's Dazed's warrior, having pillaged my wheat. I can take a 50% shot this turn at killing him, and I'll have a replacement warrior in time. If I lose though he might promote to woodsman and put a serious choke on me, or even promote to shock and possibly eliminate me. Do I chance it?







Heck yeah I do, and I win too. So for the cost of a 4-turn farm I got 4 Great General points, a 2-promo warrior (thanks, charismatic!) and killed Dazed's dude.


I'm not sure what I should promote him to, I'm thinking Woodsman II and then speeding over to see if I can capture Dazed's worker or at least bother him some. What do you suggest, Sareln?



Oh also scooter built a worker this turn. I'm still squatting in his territory with my scout, and I can chose to block him from either his gold or copper- which makes the most sense?

Counter-harass, since we're already pushing our luck might as well go for it! Just be aware of when the archer will pop out and be ready to pull him back. A woody II warrior/axeman will be really useful in securing your hold on the center.
