Adventure Twenty - Desert Domination

I see that Adventure Twenty, a Gentle Adventure, is up, with an info page here:

A rules clarification came to mind:

Quote:The use of Merchant specialists is also forbidden.

Does that include a settled Great Merchant? So any Great Merchants would have to find another use?

Good question, and not something that I thought about. You can still get a Great Merchant via wonders and the free one at Economics, of course.

Let's rule out the use of Great Merchants as super-specialists for this game. They can still be used for trade missions, lightbulbing techs, or for Golden Ages. That should probably be added to the scenario page, if Gris has time to do so. smile

Looks interesting. Now let's just hope I can get Epic 11 done in time. frown

How does this sound?

"The use of Merchant specialists is also forbidden. Try to do the best you can to prevent the AI governors from hiring these specialists, should the situation occur. If you do get a Great Merchant, via wonders or the Economics tech, you may not use him as a super-specialist. You may still use him for trade missions, new technologies, and Golden Ages."

I had to put in the part about how they might get a great merchant, because otherwise it sounds like we're OKing popping merchants because of a mistake with AI specialists.

Can anyone give me some description of what to expect on an oasis map? I've never played one before.

That text sounds great! Definitely better than my initial wording. thumbsup

Ask and you shall receive:

Here's a picture of a typical Oasis map; I generated this random one and snapped a picture of it. There's a coastal region at the top, lots of desert in the middle, and then jungle in the south. Sirian designed it to resemble the Sahara region (the original name for this map script was actually "Sahara").

Beyond that, you'll have to play this game and discover for yourself. nod

I enjoyed this game quite a lot. I am not into the diplomatic part of the game, as my unreported Warlords 3 Game showed, though. Thanks for sponsoring this!

Great picture, Sullla. Also, here's a link from apolyton wherein Sirian discusses the Oasis map a bit:

Game complete. Thank you for another small map game here!

Now I'd better try to get more done on Epic 11....

What about captured courthouses? Should we just note that they were intact on capturing a city?
