Looks to be actually happening....
And all I can say is that it sounds almost as far from Civilization as we know it as possible.

In Soviet Russia, Civilization Micros You!
"Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must." “I have never understood why it is "greed" to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money.”
And perhaps where you have to have powergamers who never log out tell you what to do. Could be fun..... Ehhhh.... color me skeptical.
Typical 2K Games management at work. They have a valuable IP in the Civilization brand, now it's time to whore it out as much as possible. I wish that they would invest that time and money into creating an actual good strategy game, instead of plastering the Civilization and Sid Meier's name onto as much crap as humanly possible.
Okay. This is just the next step in Sims.
First we had Sims medieval, and sims online of course. Remember how swoozie's gf's ex was the mayor of 'the city'? Now we have sims civilization online. Basically everything will be bought with sim bucks or time, some people will have tons of cash, being the generals or politicians with big mansions, and others will be regular players. Reminds me of eve online. In sims online you could have bots which you can program to just work at some lame job 24/7 .... And with enough bots you can like, research technology, build wonders, always have the best weapons, etc, because of all your freaking cash. Seems like the next step on the way to increased online life, but I sense it might flop like elemental war of magic. |
