Another weird question - is it even theoretically possible for the AI to gift you something, like, say, the Alphabet? If the AI was to gift you something, would you be able to decline it? It seems like an automatic affair when you are the gifter. Never seen it happen the other way though.

It IS possible, since I was gifted THRE techs in Adventure 2. However, I believe you have the right to refuse, so it shouldn't be a problem.
That's quite a good question actually - best grab those huts before you get that far into the tree
 Custom continents will probably mean the huts get grabbed early on, I'd say.
