The Second Korean War: THH duels Ruff_Hi

My thread for my duel with Q was met with positively, so I thought I'd make another one for my new duel with Ruff_Hi. The settings are the same as before:

(November 24th, 2013, 17:47)TheHumanHydra Wrote: ... no barbs, no huts, no corps, elephants, planes, or spies; GSpies stay in borders; Quick, Ancient, Noble, Mirrorland ...

With again no random improvements I believe. I noticed the game wasn't set to Always War, so I've asked Ruff_Hi if he wants to change that, which would necessitate a reroll. If not, here is the start (mirrored, of course):

[Edit: Redacted due to obsolescence]

In this one we are both playing as the same randomly-selected leader/civ pairing, which happened to be Montezuma (Agg/Spi) of Korea (Mysticism/Mining; Hwacha, Seowon). Since this makes his capital (unless he renames it) Seoul and mine P'yongyang (and we're both Aggressive), clearly we are about to fight the second Korean War.

Obviously this is a slow start since they're all Animal Husbandry resources and we lack either prerequisite, but that doesn't matter since it's fully mirrored. I moved the warrior next to the lake on the off-chance that would suggest a move, since that seemed to be the most promising direction if a move were to be made, but didn't see anything so settled in place:

Ruff also settled, probably in place though you never know.

Wish me luck!

Ok, we did choose to restart to fix the Always War setting, so here's our new start:

Checked the plains hill:

Why not, let's try it:

(Ruff settled t0, btw.)

As my first post on these forums, I should like to point out that the first Korean war is technically ongoing.

I will now end pedantry mode, and return to the shadows.

There was an armistice signed, although not a treaty. It's really the Chinese Civil War that's technically still going...

Thanks, Noble. Welcome to the forums, DasGuntLord01! I did know that, but of course if conflict resumed in Korea they would still call it the Second Korean War. While we're on the topic, apparently the Third Punic War did not technically end until 1985 AD, World War I until 1958 because they forgot to invite Andorra to Paris, and World War II till 1990 when there was finally a unified Germany to make peace with!

Anyway, I hope you will not return to the shadows but continue to post and maybe become involved in some games, DasGuntLord!

Ugh, Ruff_Hi seems to have forgotten to turn barbs off. I don't want to bother him for another reload, but it's annoying, as the match is no longer truly mirrored.

Edit: Well, got my free flawless win against the barb panther I spotted. It all goes downhill from here. lol Went warrior second (not due to barbs).

lol

My experience is that Mirrorland is big enough for barbs to make a significant difference to the game (in a duel on noble we had 3 cities spawn).
Erebus in the Balance - a FFH Modmod based around balancing and polishing FFH for streamlined competitive play.

Oh dear. Well, I guess we'll have to see what happens. Ruff_Hi did not respond to my comment that the barbs are on.

Comment from a friend who's reading made me realize I never even posted a screenshot of my capital after founding. This is where I'm at right now:
