Scenario:
Who's the best at building wonders? We're about to hold a contest
to find out.
Rules:
You may not declare war on another civilization, or instigate wars
between other civs. If asked to join a war, you must decline. For
this reason, signing Defensive Pacts is also disallowed. You must
make all reasonable attempts to play this game peacefully.
All
civilizations have the right to defend themselves. If another civ
declares war on you, you are permitted to defend your own territory,
and even capture enemy cities. However, at most you are allowed
to capture half of their cities, rounded down. For example, if your
opponent were to declare war with four cities, you would be permitted
to capture two of them; if they were to begin with seven cities,
you would be allowed to capture three of them (your choice on which
ones).
In
other words, the goal of this game is to out-build your opponents,
not sit just under the Domination limit building wonders. Please
observe the spirit of the scenario by refraining from goading the
AIs into declaring war on you.
Scoring:
One point will be awarded for each world wonder that your civilization
manages to construct. How the wonder is completed doesn't matter
(Great Engineers, forest chopping, population and cash rushing are
all fair game), but only world wonders that you managed to build,
not capture, will count. Please note that national wonders, religious
shrines, corporations, and projects (such as the Internet) do NOT
count in the scoring. Just to avoid confusion, here is the full
list of world wonders:
- Angkor
Wat
- Apostolic
Palace

Since
all wonders count exactly the same in the scoring, you'll have to
pick and choose which ones to pursue for optimal results. Obviously
players won't be able to get all 34 wonders
or can they?
Note:
All stone and marble resources have been removed from this map,
to provide a level playing field for all civilizations. Other resources
that double wonder production (such as ivory for the Status of Zeus)
remain in play, however.
