Scenario:
This is an Extreme Adventure (err, Epic) revisiting one of our Civ3
games. Were throwing you to the wolves with Deity difficulty,
but all victory conditions except Conquest have been turned off.
The AIs cannot simply tech their way into space; you must be eliminated
militarily to lose the game.
In
some ways this scenario is similar to Epic Four, but the actual
experience should play very differently. Rather than surviving a
barbarian onslaught on a heavily customized map, you will have to
defeat boosted AI rivals under much more normal conditions.
(Please note that barbs are still turned on for this game, however,
so be careful in the early going.) This epic is not for the faint
of heart!
Rules:
There are no variant rules for this game. Play things out, no matter
how bleak the situation may appear.

Goals: Survive, Conquer. Where there is life, there is hope.
Scoring:
There is no scoring for this game.
Results:
Defeating the AI opponents is a BIG victory, surviving to 2050AD
is a victory, and playing it out to the bitter end is a moral victory;
submitted games will be divided into these three categories. Victors
will be listed in order of fastest finish, with defeats listed in
reverse order (those who survived the longest listed first). In
the event of ties (multiple 2050AD finishes), those with the highest
score will be listed first. Anyone who manages to survive to games
end will receive special recognition, with or without achieving
victory.
Additional
Notes: Remember, 2050AD is a long ways away. Dont get
overzealous going for too many opponents at once. The longer the
game goes, the less the AIs opening advantages matter and
the more time human intelligence has to overcome these failings.
This *should* play slightly easier than a typical Deity game, simply
because there is no space or diplomatic ending to cut things off
just when you hit your stride. Expect to get plenty of experience
with late-game Modern warfare; the Small map size is designed to
cut down on some of the tedium of Conquest.
