1.21f Scenario
Concept: What the (bleep) happened to the resources?
"This
one is a spinoff of Sulla's no-resource idea. It's not a no-resource idea, it's
a some resources idea. There are eight strategic resources in the game. What happens
if the map generator randomly removes ALL instances of two of them, but the player
doesn't know which two resources are gone? Out of the remaining six resources,
two of them could be extremely rare (meaning one or two in the entire world),
two of them regular frequency, and two so completely abundant they're all over
the place. Or maybe just alot of them in one general area." -Falsfire Custom
Rules: *
At least one resource type is completely missing from the map. * At least
one resource type is so abundant, you'll be stunned at how much there is.
* This is a custom map size, between "standard" and "large":
120x120 tiles, Optimal Cities 20 (10 needed to qualify for FP), research set between
standard and large pace. * Gallic Swordsmen have been changed for this game.
They upgrade to guerilla, not MDI, so you will continue to have them available
even after your golden age until the advent of rubber. That is, assuming you can
find any iron. * This
map has been hand drawn. Expect surprises.
Variant
Rules: None Strategy:
This Epic is one of a kind. If you go for the Histogram win, you can settle in
with a certain amount of land and hold out to the end. Otherwise you must go on
the warpath. Either way, you will be in for a long game. The test here is not
only your military and building skills, but your adaptability. This game is not
for the faint of heart! There will never again be another chance to play a game
quite like this one. Good luck if you take up the challenge. Scoring:
Conquest victories ranked by finish date, Domination wins ranked by finish date,
Histogram wins ranked by game score, Defeats ranked by elimination date. Special
thanks to falsfire for inspiring this scenario. Closing
Day: Monday, August 18. Reports due August 18 or 19.
