I'm not sure what to make of Joey's analysis.
Copper is overrated. Least necessary strategic resource in the game.
Well, I suppose that isn't quite as true if everyone has copper at the capital, but even then chariots and archers work if you play smart.
Joey's overstating the risk of getting forked. Forks work best when 2 cities are threatened on the same turn, and looking at my predicted dotmap on Joey's land, I don't think that will end up being the case.
Newer players tend to be either completely passive or completely paranoid and lashing out at the smallest slight. That new city really sucks, no food specials at all. He really should have settled 1S, it's a similar tactical situation, and it also has the benefits of getting cultural vision over the landbridge, blocking Haram from settling fish in 1st ring. GermanJoJo Wrote:Sigh, anyways, its likely he'll feel that he has me on the run and won't accept the treaty, but I'll have axes out in 5 turns and nothing else to build until my capital hits size 8. So, his call if he wants to keep this going for awhile. Now, I'm just a simple FFH player & ain't got no fancy BTS degree or nothin', but shouldn't Germanic Jojo here be building, idk, settlers? Why would you grow your capital vertically when you only have two other cities (one just founded) & wasted about a hundred hammers to pillage a fur? |
