I think Bigger has realised he's up shit creek and without a paddle. I'm about to try and sell him a paddle for a city. That'd free up 60 of his units, cannons and musketeers to go and deal with the rifles that the other guys can now field. I also bought Rifling for 100g from 2MN and am proceeding to continue drafting up a stack.
I'm basically playing spoiler right now. Just continuing to stack up to not be a tasty morsel to the other players but TBH if Cornflakes wanted he could take one of my cities that I can't defend at any point, it's defended by longbows and a single grenadier. The moment he positions to attack I'm just abandoning that city and running away. If anyone invades and has the capability to just win outright even if I get to attack first (due to sheer unit numbers) I'm plan to simply back off and gift the army to someone else.

That would be kinda cheesy to gift the army, don't you think?

Considering I have almost 80 units and can pretty much destroy up to about 5000 hammers worth of units, I dunno. I'd probably gift it to Cornflakes whom has gifted me tech, so some of that can be considered payment in kind, right? Though if Cornflakes attacked me then I'm going to just rampage through his newly conquered lands and try to wreck his game.

I don't think you should gift your army to anyone unless it helps you survive longer in some way.

The threat of making an enemy stronger is what keeps the me alive for longer, as it makes it more costly to actually get the land. But if it's an empty threat, then it's worthless.

Sure, that's why you can threaten to slam your entire army into the first person that attacks you. That works just as well.

And I'm doing just that. I'm not going to just gift away my army whilst that's working. But if someone invades me with a stack I judge that I can't kill (I'm talking either a 100 unit stack of inf and arty or 175 unit stack of rifles, cannons and muskets whilst defending other flanks) then I have to make them bleed as they move in. But that isn't necessarily possible, if they have that many units.

Cornflakes is being dumb. Floating random galleons through my territory to go sin in Jowy's territory? Yeah, like that makes sense for anything other than an attack at me. I closed borders with him and I'm continuing to draft rifles, only problem is I have have zero gold saved no and I'm already building wealth in one of my cities...so I'm going around begging gpt from people.

Cornflakes is not going to appreciating losing every single battle I took this turn.
Not when the first one was a rifle beating his inf at 4.3%. He can no longer take the capital next turn; his galleons are not loaded and he only has 7 units in position to attack against my 12 defending units.
