Yeah, some advice from someone who has had the pleasure of playing on maps Plako has created...a lot of those settings would be best left to the discretion of Plako. I mean, the difference between Monarch and Emperor and the effect on the game pales when compared to what Plako can cause due to map layout, resource availability, and distance between starts.

Though you really do want to start everyone with scouts.

Comparing the potential traits for Team Orgy, from most useful to least useful:

• Charismatic – enthusiasm is key!
  
• Creative – always a plus to get inventive.
  
• Expansive – need I say more.
  
• Industrious – definitely helpful to be hard working.
  
• Aggressive – sure, if you’re into that sort of thing.
  
• Imperialistic – could be okay if you’re into roleplay.
  
• Organized – some of these positions do require a bit of planning.
  
• Financial – we're not looking to make a profit. (Or are we?)
  
• Philosophical – sorry, we’re not interested in +100% birth rate.
  
• Spiritual – this definitely isn't church.
  
• Protective – uh, you probably turned up to the wrong house.

Based on traits alone, Catherine and Boudica would surely be interesting and kinky choices. For the guys, Washington and Bismarck probably take the cake.

At the other end of the spectrum, folks like Saladin, Wang Kon and Gandhi might kill the mood a bit, and Alexander could be a little scary.

And classical_hero, Aivoturso and Dick76 are still looking for teammates. Based on all the other PB's going on right now, I think we're going to have to decide if we want to play a smaller game sooner (with 5-6 teams), or a larger game later (in a month or two). My preference is to get started earlier, and I don't mind a smaller game, but I'll go with whatever the majority decides.

My personal preference is to play with more teams rather than less - ideally 8-12 in total if we can manage it. If we're still short on experienced players then surely we can still allow less experienced teams to join and get more general help and advice on gameplay from the lurkers.

The primary advantage of Pitboss over PBEM is that it supports games with lots of civs very easily, which makes for a greater number of possible outcomes and less predictability - so let's not let it go to waste. The more the merrier, I say!

Seems like most settings are already decided, except maybe the map. Caledorn and I are fine with gving Plako free reign to make whatever map he sees fit.
