I think it is an american thing. My understanding is that an under / over bet is suppose to be a 50/50 shot.

Example: There are 162 games in a regular MLB (baseball) season. Before any games are played, the guys in Los Vegas set the line for each team. For the Yankee's (a typically strong team), the line might be 95. For the Mets (a typically weaker team), the line might be 75. Then you have the option of taking under or over for each team. Say you are a Mets fan and you think they will easily win more than 75 games - you put down your money and take 'over'. The idea from the bookies point of view is that the 'line' is such that half the people will take 'over' and the other half will take 'under'.

TT certainly took a tilt against my windmill ... see his comment:

Here is a picture before his attack and after - see all my units that got red-lined

The end of Adhoc - do I delay the kill hunting those workers or do I just kill this city?

FWIW - Your explanation on over/under bets is exactly right and your turn reports are quite entertaining.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Here is an oddity - I was reviewing TT's attack - see log below, read bottom to top, left to right ...

How does the game determine how many units get damaged by collateral? And how is that damage calculated? As you can see from the above picture, the number of units damaged by collateral was:

5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 4, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4, 4, 3, 4, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1, 3, 1

Even after all of that collateral damage, my units were more than strong enough to keep on killing TT's units.

I did promote all my rifles to Drill II ...

How does that impact on the number / damage inflicted?

It would seem that TT would have preferred more killing units and less catapults so that he could actually kill my units after he red-lined them.

I believe targets chosen for collateral are random. Your units started hitting the maximum damage threshold, so when those units were chosen they were immune and thus reduced the number of targets hit by the collateral.

Any collateral that would have landed on a catapult (or other collateral from siege immune unit) is ignored, which is why with stacks with only a few real units, and tons of seige, if you hit it with cats you won't do much colateral damage.

Do the Drill promotions reduce collateral damage when a unit gets hit with bombardment or do they reduce the maximum damage from collateral on the unit?

That's a good question. I'd think the former.

Adhoc's last gasp - I killed his pike and longbow so that the only unit defending his capital is a warrior. I then moved my Conq to see if there was anything else with those workers ...

Well, 5 workers are worth hunting - I wasn't going to bother about just 2 workers. I sent the following (out of game - oops):

Quote:Adhoc,

I don't mean for this email to be rude or anything - but I am hunting those 5 workers - I have enough forces around your last city to make capture a certainty - can you make it easier for all of us and move them to the same tile?

Cheers,

Ruff
and got back the following:
Quote:Certainly..... oops i accidentally deleted them.... oh well, good luck catching NAS
I am not actually sure if he deleted them or not.

TT caught Adhoc decease and left his city (In Dipper) empty ... not that I could actually attack it this turn with my units red-lined. They are healing and my Medic III who was taking a holiday too far behind the lines is catching up.

Remember those workers that were chopping a forest a few posts up, I captured them and then used them to road and reinforce 'In Dipper'. I also moved some non injured units forward into the city too.

It seems to me that NSA will run right through Peg and into TT land, leaving the Peg cities that aren't in a direct line for clean up. As such, I cannot afford to go slow with TT - I will have to advance quickly with the units that I have on hand.

Adhoc had the save for 30 hrs - do I slow the whole game down hunting his workers (assuming he hasn't deleted them) or do I just kill him?

Is there a RB standard regarding deleting (about to be captured) workers?
