Oh yeah and I spotted my first trireme in the south central sea. I may need metal casting before settling the north point there.
I have to run.

The attack is postponed. I don't want to fight a 2 vs. 2 galley fight.

Clearly time for a galley arms race. Or maybe just triremes. wink

I think you should slot in the work boat at Ball before finishing the odeon. Culture's not critical there anymore.

I was looking on the EP graph to see if anybody had built courthouses, indicating the founder of Confucianism. I only learned that Dazed has built a Ziggurat.

The game helpfully let me know the location of Boldly's colossus city, which birthed a great merchant. Pyramids won't be rushed by an engineer, then. Boldly has known this for a long time though so he has every opportunity to slowbuild it, and his MFG is very high.

So here's my wealth/Pyramids build. 305 hammers remaining and the city makes 19hpt. I can chop three forests for 60h, then add 13x19 hammers for 307 hammers total. Or I can chop the deer as well to get 80h, and add 11x19h + 1x18h, also for 307 hammers total. ETA eot90, in other words.

Come to think of it, Boldly's GP out of San Antonio must be a mixed odds GP, since Colossus is a fairly recent build. So maybe Boldly was aiming for a great engineer here after all.
I have to run.

Spoiler alert!

I really don't know what he means though.

Oh I could screw up in so many ways. lol And with my lead in demographics the other players could all start focusing on me at the same time, which might stretch me thin. It's not like I'm bigger than the three of them combined.

Anyway, turn 80 saw me research iron working. First though, a look at the island theatre. Dazed had units on his galleys, and he's now unloaded them back on his mainland. Unless he's gotten construction they need another turn to get back into North Point though, so I have a window where I might try an attack. I have four galleys vs. his two, and I have two phalanxes on the five move galley.

I also settled this city to claim furs. The city itself breaks even, but the rise in per-city maintenance cost me a few gpt.

And then I got Iron Working. True to form Commodore just added one iron per player, in the contested zone between players. This explains Boldly's latest settlement:

You can also see Boldly's trireme advancing in that screenshot. Unfortunately my fish in the south central sea will be pillaged, since it's on a coast tile. That's all the damage the trireme can do by itself, though.
I have to run.

Uhm did you move the normal galleys up? Your attack is hosed if dazed just moves his galleys north one tile.
