Hmmm, I need to check, I'm sure I saw Paper in the list of techs available for research, but maybe it was in another game smile

Banking first, yeah. Not sure we want Merc though, we don't have enough cities for the extra specialists to compensate for the loss of trade routes

How can you kill a Great Merchant? Aren't great people invulnerable?

Negative. See PBEM17, it happened to novice.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

You can tech Paper through Theology.

Yeah, I know that, but we don't have Theology as well, and if I have to choose whether to tech CS or Theo, I will pick CS approximately 9987 times out of 10000

A couple of annoying things happened. First, Sian managed to kill the Longbow in Air Gear with a Pike (less than 30% chance). Second, our GG spawned in Laudica, that's the island city! (the southern city on the screenshot)

We could do with a superhealer, but by the time we bring the GG to the battlefield, the war could be over

I decided to sacrifice our starting Scout, who survived for almost 5000 years, to take a peek at Sian's defences in the capital. I quite liked what I saw

The nice thing about this is that the hill where the scout is is not roaded. Whatever unit he uses to kill the scout will be out of position and not able to defend the city if we attack in 2 turns. I left the 'phracts healing this turn, next turn I will move all more or less healthy ones onto the marked hill, and decide which city they're going to attack. Of course, Sian's garrison in the capital is underwhelming, but it's a hill city with 60% defences, will require some effort to capture. From tactical point of view, capturing the capital is better, because it cuts off reinforcement lines for Code Geass, he will only be able to reinforce it be sea. But I don't want to sacrifice too many 'phracts

I roaded the tile W of Air Gear, the Workers are protected by Axe, Longbow and a healthy 'phract with 2 unused promos. Sian has only 2 units in range, so won't be able to capture the Workers. Mai Hime is temporarily defenceless, but he can't reach it in 1 turn, so no harm in that too

Heh, I learn something new every day smile Well, if NS7 decide to kill our GM, there's nothing to stop them. They already can research Scientific Method! And still nobody can challenge Liberalism, so they could take something even better (e.g. Physics for Airships and free GS)

Sian makes the same mistake once again

The city of Silver Moon is undefended, when our Galley can land troops into it in one turn (it started the turn 1S of the position on the screenshot). Captured and razed

Yeah. Boats. They carry troops © Ranamar

The Chariot that was on the Galley was already a hero of the empire, its scouting information has been invaluable. It's only fitting that its career ended by a city capture

Meanwhile, 8 'phracts make their move onto the marked hill. Most of them are not at full health, but they want to know if there's any damage to be dealt

Not the most powerful defences. Looks like Sian will have to give up another city next turn

We're not going to break through that capital frown That's going to be a tough nut to crack. Code Geass is gone though.

I don't know how, but Sian managed to reinforce Code Geass. It now has 4 Pikes + a Warrior. With our 'phracts being not fully healed, we can expect to lose 1 for every Pike, so we're probably 1 'phract short if capturing the city. Defences of the capital weren't weakened, it's still Longbow + Mace + 3 Pikes, with a Chariot added

Probably he moved defences from Dragonball Z to the capital, and Pikes from the capital to Code Geass. But I don't think we should attack. It means we're unlikely to make more gains, unless we manage to pillage his remaining iron. But I don't want to lose our 'phracts, achieving nothing

Didn't play yet, will play tomorrow

What are your remaining forces in the battle with Sian?
