Just a general question about turn order: If someone has the second half and they are logged in over the turn roll, taking a promotion after is a double move, right? Is using auto-promote legal?
I don't know if it's an universal understanding, but in PB9 in a similar situation lurkers let me use auto-promote.

Is using auto-promote legal? Generally yes, taking a promotion would be considered a double move. However, it seems to be accepted that if you want to roll the dice on how the AI promotes for you, go for it.
Maybe this is far afield for both this tech thread and for RB Mod, but would it be possible to enable queueing promotions like you can other unit actions? No idea how you'd go about enabling that in the mod or if it is even desirable given double move considerations, but the guy in the second half of the timer is at a real disadvantage regarding taking useful promotions and healing.
If this is too much of a thread hijack just ignore me. This doesn't relate to anything specific to this game, I'm just asking because William LP brought it up. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon (September 6th, 2013, 14:27)spacetyrantxenu Wrote: but the guy in the second half of the timer is at a real disadvantage regarding taking useful promotions and healing. The guy in the first half can't either until next turn (and can't use auto-promote), unless I'm missing something. The second half can also react-whip. It seems the second half is so far superior that playing seriously to win would mean always trying to be the last to play to avoid the first half being possible, ever. (I'll never do this because I value expedient turns and a pleasant game far more than winning.)
Auto-promote is generally painful enough...
