Quick or Normal Speed? You might want to use PBEM16 as a bench mark.
[SPOILER] Pitboss5, "The Pony Polka" (Kuro)

Alright, thanks Krill!
Unrelatedly, looking at it, I really think the Ikhanda is working well right now. It's saving me 3 gpt ATM w/ one ready to complete in my just settled 5th city right now. At this stage in the game, 3 GPT is equal to: 1 city(Newly settled city is costing me 3 GPT exactly, after rounding and stuff anyway I think) 20% on the science slider(Or 4 beakers, if you prefer) And one chopped forest or a whip at a fast growth allows it to come out quite fast. Ofc, this is without a lot of MMing(Since it's a SP test game), but it still seems quite nice to me. EDIT: Also, I now have 5 RB windows up. Welp. EDIT2: By my calculations, turn 46/47 Quick is roughly equal to turn 70 Normal, correct? Multiplying 46 by 1.5 should give you 69 and multiplying 47 by 1.5 gives you 70.5... EDIT3: Accidently looked at PBEM17 so far. Somehow.
--- Test Game 1: Shaka of Zulu, T70, Compared to PBEM16 ---
Kuro's test game: 5 cities, 2 Impis, 3 Warrios, 4 Archers, 5 Workers, 40% tech rate @ 7 beakers per turn(I didn't do binary, I don't know if it matters though) Krill(T50 is the closest report I have): 4 cities, 4 Workers(5 almost done), unknown amount of military units, better research Serdoa: 3 cities(4 if you count @ T49 soon after), 2 Workers(But 3 Work Boats), small military(4 Quechua + 1 Archer @ T50), Oracle Scooter: I don't think I have anything in his thread. Dazed(T50): 4 cities(5 turn Settler), unknown amount of military(Chariots + Warriors, Copper just hooked up), better research m_h(T50): 3 cities(Settler in 3), unknown small military So... I think I did expand decently enough, though honestly PBEM16 seems like such an odd game IDK if it's a valid comparison. I think I worried about military too much though: I should of just stayed with Archers for longer and teched Pottery before IW(I went for IW right after BW because I had no copper reasonably near, which is a potential possibility in the game). This would of allowed me to work some cottages and thus not be pulling in as few beakers as I am. Alternately, teching Writing for Libraries would work too. Still, the fact I didn't fail as horribly as I thought is good. =)
Normal speed? Sounds like (Edit: above) average expansion and above average military. The amount of military needed depends on what your neighbours build.
EDIT: I'm thinking in BTS terms and with a fairly lush map.
I have to run.
novice Wrote:Normal speed? Sounds like (Edit: above) average expansion and above average military. The amount of military needed depends on what your neighbours build. Well, I wouldn't really call the map lush(My capital had two resources: Plains Hill Sheep and Grassland Iron), but it wasn't TOO bad(I would say all those forests gave me the early game equivolant of a non-irrigate Corn, non-grassland Pigs food resource w/ old Slavery). I probably built above average military because my neighbors were real close(My third city's borders touched the Khmer's capital. My second city did after it expanded and I think the Khmer's capital expanded again. And these are probably my second and third best cities!). And, in a realistic no-NAP game, I would have to build some military to defend those. Right now I was actually working on a round of Axes before Pottery came in for a round of Granaries.
Bluh, this UU post is taking longer than I thought, possibly because I got distracted by RPs and stuff today. It's @ 2,196 words with 13 UU done so far, though. I'm getting tired, so it'll have to be done tomorrow.
Having so many posts and views already seems ridiculous. XD
Isn't this game dead or something? Why are you still posting in here?
