In response to his last message (re Bradeline's Well) I sent this off:
Quote:[COLOR="Yellow"]Not really. The first time Sciz popped that lair it cost him 3 warriors before t40. That gold tile won't be worked until around t100. Not a great tradeoff IMO. Pretty much a straight up message. Having a 6f tile vs a 4f/1h tile early is a huge advantage and getting that 3rd gold vs 48(early)h worth of warriors isn't a great tradeoff. In the meantime, it keeps him talking about the wrong things. I'm expecting a rather panicky email after the power graph spike that will happen on t81. (5 warriors-->5 swordsmen will produce a rather noticeable spike in my power rating. ) Honestly, those soldiers are just for scouting purposes. KLIMORPH!!!! KLIMORPH!!!! KLIMORPH!!!! GOLD! GOLD! GOLD!
Assuming that you win the war against MrYellow decisively, do you have sufficient workers for your infrastructure in your new lands as well as at home?
Also, if you do win decisively you are likely to be in a rather strong position territory-wise. do you have any plan for dealing with the other players if they decide you've become a runaway and attempt to dogpile you? @Cottages in Golden Lean-To: The main reason I can think of is for the extra hammer(s?), since the city is food-heavy and production-light. When those two tiles get to village they will outproduce an Aristofarm commerce-wise, but that doesn't seem as significant. Thoth Wrote:KLIMORPH!!!! Is.. is that a misspelling of Kilmorph? Not even close to enough workers. OTOH, he's certainly done some tile improving which will help to bridge the gap. Honestly, I'm expecting a longish war of attrition. It will be ugly but I'll still be able to expand westwards while keeping up a nasty pillaging choke on Mr. Yellow. Best case scenario: I can take his capital. In this case I'll have a production centre close to his remaining cities and can eliminate him completely. Medium case: I can't take his capital, but I can take his secondary cities. The war will take longer, but he'll be out of the game. Bad case: I get stalemated without being able to take any of his cities beyond the Marble. Not good, but I can choke him while pillaging to keep military expenses paid. Worst case: I get dogpiled early. It will be one hell of a fight. Anyone coming at me will have to cross barb infested desert to do it. A dogpile will hurt, but I think I can fight it off. Quote:Also, if you do win decisively you are likely to be in a rather strong position territory-wise. do you have any plan for dealing with the other players if they decide you've become a runaway and attempt to dogpile you? I've been running under the assumption that I'm going to get dogpiled at some point since I popped the early Great Merchant. I'll be building and maintaining a significant army. When those two tiles get to village they will outproduce an Aristofarm commerce-wise, but that doesn't seem as significant. No extra hammers for Towns in FFHII. The extra commerce under any government + extra commerce right now is the reason. GLT will be a decent enough hammer producer once I get those lumbermills up (plus extra happy sources).
Hurry up and get on with the already.

I haven't got turn 81 into my grubby mitts yet let alone turn 84. Current Jihad timeline: t81 : upgrade 5 warriors to swords t82 : Move swords onto plainshill-gold tile. Technically the troops I'm going to send into his territory are scouting parties. After all, I don't have a map of his territory yet.
